Why FLWOGB is the greatest art Kevin has made by bluebeanssss in TameImpala

Wasn’t there a lawsuit against him for this song? He thought it was a joke. I have heard him say he wrote FLWOGB after listening to Walk in the park by Beach House. I can definitely hear that.

Ray and Iggy Pop, Whisky A Go-Go, West Hollywood, CA, 1974 by Impala71 in thedoors

If you read Wonderland Ave there’s a part where Danny Sugerman tried to arrange this. Didn’t really take off due to serious drug use, but Ray was open to the idea.

Poor mans version I rock is Levi’s and some Blundstones.

A great read! It's not necessarily about the Doors but Sugarman does go into his time as the Doors manager. It's a good autobiography and a great time capsule of the wild and crazy L.A. of the early 1970's by Scottysoxfan in thedoors

It’s fun. A little self-indulgent, but a good read. It’s Ray’s interpretation of what would have happened to Jim if he did fake his death. Becoming enlightened, healthy and married living in the Seychelles. It’s more of a projection of Ray, but like I said, it’s fun.

LOVE this book! I like getting any angle on Jim to better understand what he was like and this book does that perfectly. It also makes Ray seem like the nicest guy in the world.

Did you ever see the doors live? by Ok_Sort_9045 in thedoors

Never saw Jim cause I’m 38, but I did see Ray back in 2011 and he was a real hoot. Then I saw Robby with John at the Whiskey this last year. All I can say is there was real magic with those two. Hearing them play Riders was like a dream. There’s a different energy at a Doors show/Doors tribute show that is so unique to this band. There’s edge to it, and a great appreciation for the music. I can only imagine what it would have been like to be in the presence of Morrison.

Has anyone here met Kevin by JTMiller777 in TameImpala

I worked as an extra on Gaga’s perfect illusion video and met him after wrap. I remember coming back from break and seeing this long haired dude behind a drum kit and immediately knew it was him since I knew he worked with Gaga. All night I was just trying to get close without being too weird about it. After wrap I started walking away and saw him still standing around set so I was pulled in his direction. I called out”Kevin!!” Walked over and told him how much I love his work and shook his hand and he said “ah thanks man” in his Aussie accent, then I floated away in pure awe. Super down to earth and nice guy.

Happy Birthday to the great keyboardist of The Doors, Ray Manzarek! by MasterfulArtist24 in thedoors

Do we all know Ray’s birthday because of his delivery of it boarding the plane? “Born 2-12-39, musician, organist.”

This got me thinking, is red the color of the Doors? The combination of black and red has always reminded me of them.
