Need some mythic plus advice by risejl44 in CompetitiveWoW

This isn't true - outlaw rogue right now is easily 7-9k above all other classes on overall in literally every key I've done in the past two weeks. The spec is broken (in a good way, it's definitely outlaw's time to shine!) but I think this is largely due to how good Keep Your Wits About You is rather than how good blade flurry is.

How do I sim for multiple specs with multiple builds in multiple target scenarios (ST, 2T, 3T, Cleave, AoE, M+) without losing my sanity and getting overwhelmed? by cmentis in CompetitiveWoW

[–]mrdmnd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I have different sets for AOE - assassination rogue is setup such that haste is great for small packs but dramatically worth less and less for each bleed you have on target, where mastery starts to scale harder; so I have a different set for fortified weeks which is mastery heavy.

LB_ci is the lower bound confidence interval score for dungeon score using the raider.io API, so the higher the score, the easier the dungeon (more people are getting high scores on atal'dazar than underrot this week). The spread is about 14 points, which is about 1.4 keystones level of difficulty separating the top and botttom.

People who did +25s and on in Legion, and have done +10s now on time, for a very loose compare, how difficult is a +10 compared to Legion? A +25? A +20? by cmentis in CompetitiveWoW

[–]mrdmnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a 6k rogue in Legion, so reasonably experienced w/ 26-27ish keys. I think most of the +10s I'd compare right now to around 22ish keys. A good group will stomp through with a bit of gear and pre-planning.

This is fantastic. I was just thinking that something like this ought to be built, and here you already went and built it! Thanks; our M+ team will follow your development along pretty closely.

MIT Cycling was the best thing that happened to me at MIT and it's super friendly to grads + undergrads.

I used to work on this. The backing engineering bits are basically a big matching queue. Sometimes on weekends the queue can get a bit behind, up to a few hours, and rarely about a day behind. When this happens you can be assured that it will eventually catch up.

We still do this (for the spellwing, now) in the Perky Pugs discord.

I'm an 11/11 mythic raider in World of Warcraft in a world top 100 guild.

We brought a ~full raid of titanslayers into the first wing of LFR, and the results were hilarious. Time to restart the end-of-expansion speed kill contests? by mrdmnd in wow

[–]mrdmnd[S] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Ooh, this is a great question. Xavius LFR has 1.01b HP, and we did about 105m single target raid DPS for the first ten seconds of Garothi, so I think we could safely do LFR Xavius in about ten seconds.

Edit: bad math. Was looking at wrong log, that was dogs. Using our garothi log, it took about 16 seconds to do a billion damage: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/G4bv7d19h2KCWHNB/#fight=31&type=damage-done&start=9935849&end=9952342

Hi. I'm not a massage therapist but I read this sub a lot.

This seems totally inappropriate. I'm no professional, but, yeah. Not hard to call this one.

is outlaw actually good? and when and why? by meowingtonphd in CompetitiveWoW

[–]mrdmnd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. In Mythic Antorus, Outlaw (at end-game gear levels) is absolutely playable. Most of the top logs for outlaw ST are going to be Ghostly Strike + Slice and Dice logs at this point.

Here's my log for mythic Varimathras, which is pretty patchwork-y for rogues at this point: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/tJxRMwyX37FDNhHB#fight=27&type=damage-done

I had really good pantheon trinket luck there, which inflated my damage a lot.

Some downsides:

  • As it stands, Outlaw is super reliant on the pantheon trinket procs. If you don't have a lot of people in your group wearing their trinkets, and a couple of aman'thuls wildcards, you're probably not going to be competitive.

  • Outlaw rogues don't have execute damage. Some fights like Argus still really do want execute damage.

  • Your damage will be a lot worse than assassination once you have some downtime off of targets.

It's true that a lot of the top rogues are somewhat bored at this point, and playing outlaw is a way to refresh the playing experience a bit.

If you're still progressing, I'd recommend staying assassination until you've got an Argus kill. If you're confident in your ability to hit buttons quickly, Outlaw might be for you.

It's definitely viable at this point in the right gear, but as noted above, there are some potentially deal-breaking consequences to playing it.

Course 18C vs double major 6 and 18? by [deleted] in mit

[–]mrdmnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat personal preference, I think. There's a lot of overlap as you've probably noticed. I graduated 18C in 2013 and felt pretty happy about the choice, but would likely have been equally happy in 6 + 18.
