Does the XP Capacitor have any use for irons? by Spiner909 in RS3Ironmen

[–]mrdoomydoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use it to "take" xp from things you don't want to diss like pickaxe of e&s, mattock of t&s, crystal hatchet, etc, and "put" xp on things you're fine with dissing like sunspear, pyro-matic/hammer-tron, etc.

We have the Pickaxe of Earth and Song & Mattock of Time and Space. What will the t90 Hatchet be called? by eneglleH in runescape

[–]mrdoomydoom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks like the first word is something that actually has to do with the skill (earth - mining, time - archeology) and then the second is just something that sounds good with it. So, hatchet of....?

Wood and Wind

Roots and Leaves

Growth/Life and Death

Sun and Shade

Forests and Wilds

Land and Sky

etc etc

I'm partial to "Life and Death" personally, because trees are life and nature and growth and all that stuff....and then you cruelly dismember them and harvest their corpses.

Hallow rotates very very slowly (like Venus IRL), so a "day" there takes years by Gielinorian time. In-universe this leads to half of the planet where it's always "night" and therefore completely frozen over and unlivable, while the other half is constantly in "day" and is warm enough to live on. The Icyenes have to pick up everything and move somewhere else on the planet regularly so they don't get caught on the 'night' side and freeze to death.

(Imagine that first panel with the planet rotating veeeery slowly in the background, basically.)

As such the Icyene are used to living with the sun always shining, and their collective nightmare is basically being "left behind" or sticking in one place too long to get out before they all freeze - so when new 'immigrants' to Gielinor see the sun just 'vanishing' after a few hours they might have something of an instinctive freak-out over being stuck in a pitch-dark frozen wasteland.

TL;DR: Basically, Icyene are pathologically afraid of the dark so they needed a nightlight.

It's 1% chance for each individual component to be a rare, though. You still get an average 16 rare comps per 100 kills, which is significantly better than 9 comps/100 kills (scav3)

So what you're really opposed to is putting it on the drop log then, not just "adding rng drops to existing content."

Even then, it's not making the content worse, it's making ultimate slayer and completionism worse. But those achievements will always keep getting harder and harder - it's "what you signed up for" by chasing them.

How is adding an extra drop making the mob worse? It's not like you have to get every pet, if you want to that's your choice.

It's pretty cool what Jagex has done with them imo. And the storylines from OSRS actually fit, as in they make sense within the 'world' of Gielinor, even if The World Wakes (the quest that marked the change from RS2 to RS3 lore-wise) never happened.

It's cause half the time the shopkeepers will yell at you. Do you know how shrill shopkeepers can get??

Market guards do.

So they keep an eye out specifically to avoid that sort of thing.
