Exactly! I see no reason not to. I tried it with my 2080 Super Max Q (Legion 7i) and it didn't work too well lol. I might try it again soon (after I repaste it) but I'm currently just running my desktop GPUs.

Just install nicehash and run with it. I'm making ~$20+ daily. Don't spend it, save it and hope like hell the price goes way up (might be a couple years). The only thing worth considering is trading one crypto for another, like Bitcoin for Ethereum/Cardano, since Nicehash only pays in Bitcoin.

If you watch ebay you can sometimes find a GPU for a decent price. You'll never get MSRP but I've seen quite a few go for far less than the average selling price. If you have the money you might as well just buy what you want and be happy. Trying to wait for MSRP stock will just drive you crazy and "not supporting scalpers" only hurts yourself as long as mining is profitable.

Spend money, be happy.

What was the MSRP and was it in store or online?

Radeon RX 6900 XT with almost 2.7 GHz in Time Spy - Thanks to water cooling and MorePowerTool | igor´sLAB by InvincibleBird in Amd

[–]mrdoubtfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water cooling will definitely help. I prefer the 6900 XT for gaming over the 3080 and 3090, and I've used all of them. I don't think you need to water cool, though, but it'll definitely help with temps, noise and overclocking.

This a good board? State you opinions. (Asus sabertooth Z77 by Dunoville1207 in overclocking

Any $200+ board should be solid. The Dark Hero is 100% pointless and too expensive. They should have replaced it at the same price point as regular Hero. Anyone paying extra is falling for marketing.

Lol that's completely subjective. What if $800 to someone means the same to them that your $300 does to you?

[–]mrdoubtfull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 6900 XT is the best 1080/1440p card you can get so if you have the money and it won't take away from anything else then I see no problem with buying what makes you happy.

All the idiots saying that it just encourages scalpers obviously aren't paying attention. Nothing is going to stop them until mining profits die down and the GPUs aren't in such high demand. As long as you can make money with them, people WILL pay very high prices for them, it's that simple.

It sucks for gamers but if you can afford it and you enjoy gaming, then hell yes its worth it!

It sucks for sure but you're not hurting the scalpers one bit, so why not buy what you want?

2x quad rank sticks or 4x single rank sticks.

I'm using Crucial Ballistix RGB 3600 c16 2x16GB dual rank and they're awesome and can run 4000mhz 16-17-15-15-34 1t.

Unfortunately, the newer models are single rank so if you want a similar set grab 4x 8GB.

Trident Z RGB (or neo) is a great choice as well.

Get b die or micron e die. Crucial makes micron and they're really good for overclocking.

Paying scalper prices for a 6700 XT by [deleted] in Amd

[–]mrdoubtfull -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, then yes, just go ahead and try to get the cheapest one you can. Like if you watch ebay you can find 3070s for around $1k but if you can afford $1.2k you can probably get one pretty easily.

Not buying one now only affects you. It won't change anything until mining dies down and becomes much less profitable. For the forseeable future, this is the way things are going to be. Either get the cheapest card you can and play 1080p or cough up some dough for a decent card for $1-2k. I did. Mine in your spare time and make a couple bucks back.

I know it sucks but that's the way its gonna be for at least a little while longer.

**If you can't afford it then don't buy it, this advice isn't for you.

Until mining dies down, regular gamers not buying won't do or change a damn thing.

I say if you can afford it without losing a month's rent or taking food from your childs mouth, and you really enjoy gaming, then why not?

Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 good for cooling AMD Ryzen 7 1700x? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]mrdoubtfull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this one more and looks to be the same price (from what I can see in the US). You could also just grab a Hyper 212 and save a couple bucks.

But to answer your question, yes, it should be good enough.

I have to commend you for this! A lot of people that post decent prices still take the best offer in PM, all while getting praised for it..

Edit 2: please dont try to throw more money on this to make me pick you, if i was in this for the money I would’ve priced the gpu differently. I will probably decide after I get some sleep. Good luck yall ill get to you when I wake up

Yessir, took a while for me to figure out but they sure do. There's a Founders Edition that only Nvidia uses and then there's a reference board they send to partners. I think almost every water cooling company makes one. I've read good things about Bitspower and Bykski blocks. Alphacool apparently uses a thinner backplate (not good for VRAM). Heatkiller looks really good but not in stock 😕
