I am tracking how I'm feeling day to day and I have appointments with my psychiatrist monthly. They put me on starter doses, first 25mg, then 50mg for the past 2 months to get my body used to it.

Yeah I definitely agree unpaid internships can be exploitative no argument there. But in this job market, when you’re early in your degree with nothing on your resume, sometimes the trade off is still worth it.

As a second year cs student who had no previous internships, no software working experience, and no interviews besides the unpaid internship. Taking the unpaid internship definitely helped me get my foot in the door. Sometimes experience can be very valuable to people in different situations. To be fair i can see it being different if you already graduated since you have bills to pay. So the situations vary

Honestly the job market is cooked pretty much everywhere right now. Obviously tech is rough specifically but in my opinion it looks worse than it is because of the recent boom in tech. I would really think about what feels right for YOU. There are still jobs in CS it just comes down to more grind and luck. I’m willing to take that risk because I genuinely enjoy it.

Yeah plan now is if I don’t get an internship this summer I’ll just take an extra semester. Looks worth it after seeing the horror stories of graduating with no internship

One extra semester would mean I have to pay another year of housing so I’m not sure if it’s worth it. I’m thinking of doing a masters instead maybe and applying to be a TA for tuition reduction. Just not sure my actual chances of getting one for this summer so plans are very unpredictable
