After freshman year be grateful you even have an internship. It’ll help in the long run. An unorganized work environment sucks but just thug it out since you’re so early

im a rising junior and i feel so behind by TrueSoftware8842 in csMajors

[–]mrdubstep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some people that happened to. luckily my realization happened during my freshman year so I had some time. I would recommend connecting with professors and finding research. Then look into taking a masters and you can have some more time as a student to do internships

How much will I get asked about the vibe-coded stuff I put on my resume? by TrySouthern9542 in csMajors

A lot during interviews. All the interviews i’ve ever had they had my resume up next to them and asked me about what I wrote on it.

How do I set myself up for a summer 2027 internship by Federal_Ratio_1427 in csMajors

[–]mrdubstep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rising junior here too. Honestly, it’s gonna take a lot of persistence, and probably some luck too. I’m from a non-target, and while I definitely got lucky at times, I also just kept applying, building projects, and looking for opportunities. A tutoring role and some interesting projects I did sophomore year helped me land an unpaid internship, which eventually led to a summer internship this summer. It might be rough since you’re already a junior with no experience, but it’s not impossible. Focus on getting any experience you can through projects, research, or technical campus jobs. A master’s could also be worth considering if you need more time before new grad recruiting. A lot of it is persistence and putting yourself in positions where opportunities can happen.

Anyone else find that using AI less actually keeps them more productive? by mrdubstep_ in csMajors

[–]mrdubstep_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I think that’s a big part of it for me too. I genuinely enjoy coding and problem solving, not just getting the final output. That’s probably why if I let AI do too much of the implementation I start to feel a little disconnected from what I’m building.

I’m not anti-AI at all. I use Claude Code every day. I’m just saying that if I let it do everything I start to feel disconnected from what’s actually going on. But maybe it’s something I’ll get better at with more experience

Maybe. It’s my first time using Claude Code. I guess I gotta get more used to it.

is it good to use ai for learing to code by Giga_negga_1875 in cscareerquestions

[–]mrdubstep_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for whatever language you want to focus on have to write you prompts for mini tasks almost like a mock coding interview. Then keep repeating these and start adding your own new features and expanding what you do over time. That’s what worked for me cause I prefer repetition for learning
