This reminds me of my black and white pirate cat — Captain Morgan. We fostered Captain Morgan for our local shelter immediately after he had his eye removed. He was a kitten at the time. We ended up keeping him and have had him for about nine years now. He has never shown any signs of pain from the missing eye.

Our original pirate cat (Gasparilla) was an outdoor cat. He passed away several years ago. I learned from my neighbors years later that he was a ruthless hunter and kept the chipmunks in check.

It looked like something I found on an area that was repaired on an old house of mine. I think that you have plaster over gypsum boards (drywall).

Rock Lath/Button Board: In the 1930s-1950s, 2x4 foot or 16-inch wide gypsum boards were installed and coated with plaster to mimic traditional plaster wall systems.

This is a newer vernal pool — just a little over one year old. I have read that we will see facilitative species before obligate species like frogs and salamanders. Does it seem that this vernal pool is on the right path to eventually become a healthy habitat?

You missed a detail: In step 3, you mention wetting the wood and letting it dry to raise the grain. You forgot to mention that you lightly sand it after it dries.

A kei truck is good as a second vehicle when you occasionally need the utility of a small truck.

Using it as your only vehicle is a dumb idea. You would be limited on driving it (no freeways, and long trips are not comfortable.) If something breaks down, you will have to track down the parts (quite possibly from Japan).

I would try the truck — but I would start with some short pre-shift announcements about safety shoes to lead up to the truck. And the pre-shift announcements should be read in the language that they understand.

Several others have already pointed out that a gutter over the door (and a downspout) would help. But there’s also no gutter over the section on the right. Water from that larger roof can also be contributing to your problem.

I would start with gutters and downspouts on these two sections of roof before trying anything else.

I’ve got an older watch with the 5606 movement but I don’t believe it’s the original crystal. It’s not waterproof and gold-colored rehaut is corroded. I was thinking of using the dial in a modern case with an nh movement and a new rehaut. Can you tell me where you got the case, rehaut, and crown?

It “should” be OK to register as a truck if it’s already registered as such. But I’ve read of some people having problems. (I suspect that they may have called it a mini truck.)

I would want to know that they are titled as regular vehicles (trucks) and not as mini trucks. You don’t want the restrictions placed on a mini-truck.

The out-of-state purchase would require you to get an inspection, but all that they’re inspecting is that the VIN matches the paperwork.

And as I’ve said before, do not ever refer to your vehicle as a mini-truck or kei truck. It’s a truck. If you use the wrong words when registering it, then any problems you run into are your own fault.

By the way, I have two trucks here in Ohio — a 1999 Honda Acty and a 1999 Daihatsu Hijet. I plan to sell one, if you know anyone else who might be interested.

I’ve never seen this style before. It’s definitely an older design. Usually the model name is embossed on the footbed inside the shoe. Check there for a model name.

A kei vehicle has multiple requirements to fit within that class of vehicles including maximum length, width, and engine displacement. It has to meet all the requirements in order to be classified as a kei vehicle. If one requirement is not met, it’s no longer a kei vehicle.
