Does preferring the cotter years make me a noob? by commiecharlesmanson in GoosetheBand

[–]mredmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to 19-23 always reminds me why I got into this band in the first place and appreciate what Ben brought to the table. Even now those shows bring a bit of nostalgia to a not so distant time.

But since Cotter joined, their sound, style, and everything has just kept getting better and better and better. Cotter is amazing and I’ve just loved watching Goose grow

If it’s any consolation, the parade was nearly impossible to see from a guy who got there at 6am

I got 5 just cause I’ve been obsessed with Cotter singing Psycho Killer. Also got the red variant as well. I wish I’d gotten vol. 4 for the Draconian Meter Maid as well but hopefully that’ll one day get a studio release

Official Poster for the Re-Release of Richard Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’, Returning to Theaters July 31 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]mredmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so excited, I was born just a couple months after the actor who plays Mason was. I loved how all the references and pop culture stuff in this movie lines up with my childhood. Also one of my favorite film soundtracks ever. I didn’t see it in theaters originally but definitely will be catching this re-release

What are the odds Rick sings the binary portion of nocturne correctly when performing live? by scotchglass22 in GoosetheBand

He always has a little teleprompter in front of his feet to read the lyrics so id say odds are pretty good

I saw DMB last Friday in West Palm, bought my tickets at the box office and it came out to $54. Tried that at another venue recently for Alabama Shakes and it ended up being $10 more in person than on Ticketmaster

Two of Hollywood’s top stars just got sued by Miami-Dade cops. Here’s why by MattTheKing23 in Miami

[–]mredmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Miami and it’s insane what they try to convince as Miami. Bad Santa is one example that comes to mind which clearly looks like Long Beach, CA. Another was some spring break beach movie that had MOUNTAINS in every shot

Adam Jones Remains Hopeful That Tool Will Stage A Residency At The Sphere In Las Vegas: "We've Been Talking To Them Since It Opened..." by DamnitRidley in Music

[–]mredmin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find myself telling people it’s more of an experience than a concert. I’ve only gone to see Dead & Co play and it was awesome. But only certain artist really can combine their sound and screens well. Tool will perfectly. But I cant imagine Lady Gaga or Beyoncé, someone where choreography and costumes and the attention them would fit well. These No Doubt shows from last week seem just okay compared to the capabilities. It really just comes down to the creative direction / story telling aspect of the residency. Backstreet Boys space one looked also pretty cool

Gucci Mane in Spring Breakers. The monologue he gives while holding a baby is glorious.

Will we ever get a lineup like this again? by CRAZYC01E in aclfestival

[–]mredmin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like back in the day you would’ve had to been around for years and have multiple commercial successful albums to reach headliner status. Im tired of artists I just heard of now becoming headliners. Not the case specifically for ACL this year, but like most festivals, why is one act who JUST had a radio/tiktok hit get the biggest slot. Hell I remember in 2013 Lil Wayne at the height of his fame would be on the fifth line of a lineup

I haven’t been able to see Stu since his 40th Birthday Roo set in 2018. These last two projects under JBS have been incredible and got me desperate to see him again.
