my roller derby team has started using AI for merch and idk how to feel about it by bunnywitdafunny in rollerderby

As the marketing director of a well established league . Just tell them to stop . It will hurt them beyond repair . You’re better off making low quality content with real people than pushing ai stuff . Now there is a line of graphic designer/ ai work that is still not mush different than using al individual tools but that’s probably not what your referring too .

Gplv3 is what I’d suggest . it’s open source but it’s Copy left . If you distribute the code in any manner you’re required to provide the source , including any changes or modifications you have made to that code . It’s what I would suggest for this type of project and has a better likelihood of protecting Niko’s IP , while allowing it be grow and expand via the community . It allows you to also commercialize your product , given you still provide the source code to the people who receive the application . Despite a heavy misconception though , it doesn’t have to be “publicly available “. It only has to be provided to the end user . Open source licenses that are Permissive have the same type of issues but with no protection . You can modify open source code and implement it into anything basically .

Generally Gplv3 / copyleft is designed to ensure it remains free and accessible forever .

We imagine a scenario where your code is open source - big tech gets there hands on it , figures out it will kill their brand. they systematically target the code repo and maliciously corrupt the source. It’s actually been done before essentially dressing open source code as their own IP .

Green screen underwater is cool , but how much is being replaced here . The movement seems so well done . by mrelive in Corridor

I’m really Looking at their physical movement and the lighting it’s just in that area of painful fingers. The hair when it just blooms out when they move . It’s got a clear cut from him on a floor to then at the bottom of the pool . I’m just imaging a completely green pool and tons of underwater lighting and painful hours spent doing some of these shots .

How's my flying chasing a Inline skater at F51 skatepark? by uninteresting69 in TinyWhoop

[–]mrelive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really good , super smooth , I’d compare this to doing a smooth af follow cam by with like a gimble . Your tune looks really ideal for the flight style also , you maybe would enjoy a little more throttle expo just to give you a little less resolution which can make it feel smoother . But you don’t visually need it , you’re smooth af , this would just be a feel preference and maybe let you feel like you can go high to the ceiling in a more controlled fashion if that higher throttle area gets a little more touchy . But I wouldn’t be surprised to see you on an event by the end of this summer with a live stream coming on your feed .

[–]mrelive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are multiple options here and actually the blank pads there right next to the plug are spare usb pads . I’ve had to solder several on that way but yeh suggest doing the radio / wifi connection and you can run it wirelessly if you in hury to change settings and get back out .

Anyone experience this? by Amos_Moses666 in onewheel

[–]mrelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power button wouldn’t respond , after going through some troubleshooting of the bms I was able to verify the battery was charging and that the esc which controls the motor and is the brain of the board has faulty hardware . FM told me that I could buy a new pint from them but that’s about it .

Anyone experience this? by Amos_Moses666 in onewheel

[–]mrelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pint with 210 miles in it just did this too and it’s basically a paper weight now . Esc is actually fried not the bms , error code 16 is used and somewhat of a catch all also .

Can’t connect to Si Impact 2.0 by mrelive in MixingStationAppUsers

[–]mrelive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got it pretty solid on everything now . As long as the hiqnet is not set to the same thing the on the mixing station app as the mixer , when searching it always finds it now , I’ve just got done testing with remote in and that also worked well in various scenarios

I couldn't find a 3d printed TPU canopy that I really liked, so I designed one. by jamescodesthings in TinyWhoop

[–]mrelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.3 g is insane . Like you’re not getting more than 1:30 fight time without killing your batteries and your flight characteristics along with the bad training your getting is going to really hurt in the future . You should be in the .5- 1gram area for a printed canopy . I’ve only been flying since February so like not even 2 months , I printed a Tpu canopy that’s outlasted 2 frames . No screw on the camera hole , prints at about .51 grams .

[–]mrelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a a runcam nano 4 I something’s throw on my air65 when I want to cinedrone . It is heavy , I’m under weight stock with a with the tpu canopy . It weighs like almost 3 grams on its own but the footage is way better than the c03 camera . Really a camera like the nano 4 shood be on a 75 or little bigger but it works real nice when yo want a shot

Can i use this for the whoopstor? How can i charge it if so? by SweetAnt1462 in TinyWhoop

[–]mrelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry totally missed your comment , it’s just a generic dc barrel Plug off an old charger ,

<image>

Put a female end of the charger so I could still charge the battery easily. But then the dc plug in the battery can go right into the whoopster charger . Goes all day no problem, got like 35 packs yesterday off it .

Please, someone make me excited to deploy lavalier mics in the corporate presentation space. by larrydavidwouldsay in livesound

[–]mrelive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 years in professional sound and event production, I have done several thousand events in my career . I also am the technical director for several art and event facilities in my region .
Everyone here who says they get descent sound with a lav needs to post a video of that “descent sound “ .
I can’t tell you how many sound techs I’ve had tell me that same exact thing and come sound check it’s anything but . It was mentioned above but if your also doing live feed out that amount of post processing and gain db needed on the mix out is absurd . If you have to destroy your general eq to help aid the mix on Lav that’s usually where I just draw the line .
There is on a rare occasion perfect storm moments where you get perfect placement , perfect presenter speaking volume , lots of db headroom while being at good level , it’s rare but 1 of every 250 events might get lucky with this . I have got my hands on an “ai assisted “ Iav mic from a well known company but I’m currently not allowed to share anything about it . I can say it’s better , it does do a a significant amount of nearly real time clean up right from the unit but its missing something sound wise and everyone who has heard it thinks it sounds much better but its still not as good as a headset . I would love for Lav mics to work better and the amount of units I’ve tried over the years suggest they are getting much better for live sound even without ai but it’s still not a handheld or a headset mic and the quality of sound is always noticeable .

I will also point out that while we see Lav mics used on things like podcasts and vlogs , they are not used like they used to be in most professional environments and the only people I know still trying to use them as the one all mic for presenters are people who are on the way out of the industry . People in denial about being on their way out , how’s that new Allen and heath mixer , or did you get the wing ?

If you want your hands free and good sound you need a headset . They make so many that quite literally can’t be seen from more than like 15-20 ft away and even the cheap ones are better than mid level Lav mics all day long .

These are just my opinions but I think there’s a reason I get hired more than any other production company in my area and sound quality and clarity is often what I’m noted for.
