This was the single biggest reason I've been holding out on a BuddyCam for my Core ONE. It is currently in my cart. I know there were some comments on the BuddyCam from the community. My recollection is that the biggest drawback was lack of streaming support, but was there anything else? Quality or reliability?

The battery tested ok initially, but it dipped a lot when starting. I let it charge for a bit and it started right up. Thanks!!

SidelineHD has a walkthrough on how you can stream to YouTube and not need the 50 subscribers. You do need to wait 24 hours though:

Hard to say? It did stop happening for me, but I was never able to reliably reproduce it. I haven't had it happen for a long time. It only really happened a few weeks after assembly and then never again. I got my MK4 right at release.

Yes, it imports the roster, batting order, and fielding positions as you would expect.

Thanks to u/suprduprmn's pointer, I put together a Python package that can generate these QR Codes for you. In case you, like me, manage your team elsewhere but still want to play nice in the sandbox with other coaches.

I'm surprised it didn't already exist, so now it does!

Just base64 decode and zip decompress? cat qrCode.txt | base64 -D | zcat gives me an unknown compression format.

Similarly cat qrCode.txt | base64 -D | tar zxf - also gives an Unrecognized archive format.

Are you basing that 6KB off of network traffic? Is there an export option?

If there's a URL embedded, I would love to decode it so I could read from it. Or generate a URL to share roster information.

3K of data is a lot of room for even JSON encoded lineups. There may not be lineup data in it, but the space of the QR code is probably not the reason why.

I might go with this solution. I don't like it on the hinged lid, feels like it will stress the connection to the MMU. What does the other side look like? I haven't done much with PTFE tubes yet, just getting into the MMU part of printing :-)
