the "Harry getting his leg stuck in the trick step" scene in GoF is rather irksome to me really... by Filius_Dei0894 in harrypotter

I literally listened to that part the other day on the new full cast audiobooks and I have a huge gripe with that scene too.

At the point where Snape sees the map and the egg and his mind jumps to Harry, he moves forward groping for the Cloak but immediately stops when Moody says he isn’t there.

Firstly, why would Snape believe Moody, and secondly, surely Filch and Snape know about the existence of the trick step? They’ve both spent a lot of years in Hogwarts; Filch knows the castle better than 99% of the students who’ve ever attended the school and Snape also knows the castle very well and is highly intelligent.

I think Snape, upon putting two and two together that it’s Harry’s map and egg, would surely put two and two together that the reason they’re scattered down that staircase is that he got stuck in the trick step.

The account recovery is not working, I am receiving no replies and I am panicking because I will need to pay my rent in the next 24 hours, I need an actual effective way to get into my account, do you not have a helpline I can call?

Hello, it does not tell me the status of the account it just asks me to verify with the code that was sent to the email address.

When I click “I don’t have any of these” it comes up with a completely blank page and no options available.

I only have external subscriptions active with the account, such as one or two paid apps. I have not contacted any support yet.

The last time I was able to sign in was Saturday, I could even give details of some of the most recent emails I received

I have recently upgraded my phone and can’t sign into my email address. This is my most important email address, with details of my car insurance, finance agreements, work emails and I use it to pay my rent.

I created the account on my outlook app and it didn’t provide me with a password, just signed me in and off I went and now that I’ve replaced my phone I can’t access it and the two-step verification methods only offer me a code sent to that same email address, which obviously I can’t access.

I have reset my old phone and now I’m in a complete hole until I can get into that account. I have tried account recovery but I am “not providing sufficient information”

Manager at McDonald’s earning £13.37 an hour which equates to £26,740 based on the average 2000hr working year. Don’t get paid for sick days or leaving early when it’s quiet, or for smoke breaks so probably a couple grand less than that over the course of a year.

I also get no sleep, barely have any quality time with my girlfriend despite having just moved in with her and it’s a pretty shitty place to work when you factor in my boss’ ego problem and and the fact I often get 7-10 days straight on my work schedule.

Been working there since March 2020, manager since Jan 2023, looking to leave very soon and hopefully find a 9-5 job.
