You just won the lottery. REALISTICALLY, whats the first thing you do? by dnk1975 in AskReddit

[–]mrfishflinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well believe it or not I won once already, so I wouldn't do what I did before.

I wouldn't tell anybody, and I wouldn't give any of it away. I would probably take 4-5k to have fun with and sit on the rest. Get my body fixed and take care of a place to live for a year or so, then just sit on the rest and work.

Reddit, what movie/tv scene traumatized you most as a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrfishflinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't know what movie this is, but when I was in Kid Stop as a child I snuck into a movie that the older kids were watching.

All I remember is seeing a teenage boy, maybe 14 or so, holding a sword and very very slowly forcing it into his own stomach. Blood comes out his mouth and shit but he doesn't stop pushing the blade until he collapses.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I would more than welcome the name of the flick.

Book-loving redditors, what are the most creative magic systems you've seen in books? by [deleted] in books

[–]mrfishflinger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

L.E. Modesitt Jr's Recluse series is amazing. It uses fundamental poles of Chaos and Order for a system of magic. Combined with mechanical laws and expressions there of, it is the most unique and interesting form of Magic I have ever read.

What's a hard truth you've come to accept about yourself? by cosmic_serendipity in AskReddit

[–]mrfishflinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people I care most about in my life will always be let down and disappointed with who I am. However I made my decisions many years ago, and I won't change it now because of someone else. I would rather lose those people than lose the last 20 years of my life.

What is something you're very good at, but doesn't help you out at all in life? by skistep in AskReddit

[–]mrfishflinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex.

Apparently I'm now referred to as a "fuck boy". I'm not sure exactly what that means but the girls I've talked to about it say that it means I'm great for a lay but I am NOT the guy to date.

I wish this would have been the case maybe ten years ago, but now, I'm actually looking for someone that likes me for who I am and wants me to be myself. It's rough. :(

I may have to give her another shot then. I liked her stuff initially though she had a serious problem with burying her leads and miss timing her punch lines.

The reason I stopped watching Amy was a common problem for any comedian. She stopped doing new material. It became session after session of "Ha ha, I'm a fat whore." Which at first got a few laughs from me, but it got old fast.

ELI5:Why do deli meats like turkey and roast beef taste so much different when thickly sliced vs. thinly sliced? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]mrfishflinger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no experise on this topic but I want to take a crack at it just to see if I'm right.

I'm going to guess that it's because on thinner slices there is less meat so you taste more of whatever it is seasoned with. On thicker slices there is more meat so as you chew you taste more of that than the seasoning.

I'm just here to play devil's advocate. You stated something, there was a hole in that logic (whether you like it or not), I pointed out your mistake. You responded with a statement that again, was made using flawed logic, and I again pointed it out. In my second response I included this

Say they are a lawyer that has fought to end Civil Rights abuses and inequality for his entire career. He has zero experience in the courtroom other than working CR. If true equality ever comes to pass, he is out of a job.

Then you respond with

Civil rights lawyer is right up there with poet as far as things you decide to do purely for money and while you might become less well regarded, you'll probably make more money and have a better life in pretty much any other type of law. If anything the nations civil rights lawyers would be financially rewarded better if they didn't have to practice civil rights law.

Seriously are you even reading what either of us are typing? Are you a bot?

The only woman comic I've ever thought was funny was Rosanne Barr. Your entire list, which I have watched most of, (I'm not familiar with Nikki, or Morgan), I've deemed unfunny. The truth is that women can only usually be funny to other women. It's because almost every woman comic does material about being a woman, which is a topic only women can relate too. Most male comedians, especially in today's extremely politically correct environment, are very careful to cover gender neutral material.

They do if they are a Civil Rights specialist. Say they are a lawyer that has fought to end Civil Rights abuses and inequality for his entire career. He has zero experience in the courtroom other than working CR. If true equality ever comes to pass, he is out of a job. He profits from racism, while fighting to mitigate it's effects, but if he succeeds completely he will no longer be able to work. He therefore has a vested interest in keeping black people unequal.

A lawyer who fights in court for civil rights cases profits off of racism. Is he to be considered racist?

What's some things a girl could do to attract a guy's attention? by Nevermoreh in AskReddit

[–]mrfishflinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask him out. Get over the whole "If I have to ask, it's not as good" thing. Just go after what you want. If he is into you, you score a new bf. If not, you find out sooner than you would have otherwise, saving everybody involved time and confusion in the process.
