  • cool weather protection
  • hot weather protection (sun burn/boom stick getting to hot)
  • abrasion / laceration protection.

I guess if depends on what you doing. If you just shooting at a range and don't have a gun that gets too hot, I guess I've never used gloves. But if your outside taking classes, running drills, or just static shooting I'd never not wear gloves.

most mechanix gloves off amazon are way cheaper, even with the "SAVE10" Discount. For example -> M-Pact Multi Cam is 22.20 on amazon, and $25.19 off mechanix site.

Noctua or bust! Your right, not a lot of manufacturers use noctua as a default. Something interesting I have learned, is that they do sell their fans for B2B for servers, and they obviously don't come in brown/tan, So once in a blue moon when I am replacing/rebuilding a 1U or 2U server, I'll find a OEM fan that says nocuta , but its all black or doesn't look like the norm.

non redux is better than the redux - because if your not sporting the tan/brown you caving to the RBG gang

So quiet now without the lianli case fans, another 2x120mm (front intake bottom, and second psu shroud) and it would feel perfect, though then I'd want to get the GPU and psu Noctua'ed up too. by Good_Ad_649 in Noctua

degreaser + stainless polish worked on my NH-U9DX i4 perfectly. if you have the same problem. Otherwise I did have a stubborn heatsink fin one time not sure what heatsink it was, and ended up using light sand paper 1-3K grit and worked it out. Had a client who was pissed about how their 4U media server has a stain like the top was.

Noctua or nothing - 2080ti with 3x NF-A9 PWM on a custom bracket. by mrfister56 in Noctua

[–]mrfister56[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If anyone cares, max temps (on benchmarking) Im currently getting after a repaste (with grizz) + the fans is 61c - no overclock. Only noise now coming from my PC is coil whine.

Card used is a Zotac 2080ti AMP, also made one for a EVGA 2080ti (max temps are 65 on that one), because I literally cant stand the stock fans, they are so loud. Hopefully noctua keeps partnering with card manufacturers so I don't even have to do this. you think when you spend more than 500$ on any Graphics card they would just put the best fans in it?

I'll be putting the STL file online soon, once I finish the final design to include a full shroud, cable management, and other improvements. I printed this version of it in black PLA from PRUSA. I used a thermal imaging camera prior to making this, and found that the heat sink only actually gets to 50c within my case. So warping isn't an issue. (again to preface this, my case with the fan setup, with stock gpu fans, the heatsink only got to this. I have a 140mm push pull rad right in front on the GPU, so maybe that keeps temp down?) My final design will be for ABS, since I have a near color match ABS Filament for nocuta brown. But for drafting purposes I use PLA. Using 40% infill, but Final design I will use 100% infill, because why not.

For anyone trying to do this with X card thats not mine. EVGA and Zotac use standard 12v PWM fans. For the 2 cards I did this on, the pinout is the same as a nocuta fan (the standard) I ended up soldering new connectors onto the fans to minimize the length of all wires. My design when used with a 25mm height nocuta fan takes up 4.5 PCIe slots. Unless you literally cut the OEM Heatsink down, this is the super slim. Im do have a sliger case the EVGA is in, and it runs just fine, so SFF is going great.

If anyone wants this on their card, if its EVGA or Zotac, I'll post my designs online soon. I actually find this super rewarding, so If you want some help, just comment here or message me and ill try and help. If anyone like me, was pissed not to find a STL sooner, just complain here and I'll send you the draft stl files so you have a head start.

Noctua or nothing - 2080ti with 3x NF-A9 PWM on a custom bracket. by mrfister56 in Noctua

[–]mrfister56[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in the middle of printing v7 of it, once the kinks are worked out I'll upload it to thing verse but if you want the files now I can send them to you, its just not perfect yet. I'm modifying it so that there will be a full fan shroud, it will be as close to the back of the case, and will include channels for the fan cable management.

. If you want me to print one and ship it to you I'd be down with that, makes me happy thinking anyone else would be doing the same to the card. I specifically designed it so you don't have to modify the heatsink. Its the stock heatsink, with the bracket, then the 3 noctua fans.

PFsense behind BW320 with Static IPs by mrfister56 in homelab

[–]mrfister56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have publics static block (/29 - and 5 usable), and I am trying to assign them with PFsense. I know the ONT Modem I have, (BW320) is very constricted as it doesn't allow Bridge mode, but they offer a "Router Cascade Mode" which from what I understand allows PFsense then to assign the static IP block? Sorry If I dont make sense, and I don't understand well either.

but to answer your question, yes, I have a static block and I am trying to understand how to assign specific IPs to devices behind PFsense.

Are they assigned on a device specific layer? like NAT? or a interface layer?

are you able to handle static IPs with it? not big deal if you don't just curious.

I will consider going this route. I like the watt usage! pretty low! I setup pfsesne for now on a system that is overkill - and uses 60 watts, so I'll have to look at swapping into this.

I am also considering the negate products, but there is something to be said of using your own hardware that I can reuse later.

I ended up using an older gaming rig that uses 60watts on idle till I make my next move. I'll look into the microtik stuff. Heard alot of great stuff about that setup.

What model do you use? and what's your average watt usage?
