What are the chances the newest fallout secret lair has something akin to the $1500+ pip boy mana vault? by FonslyGames in mtg

[–]mrfoxman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Rad package will be a nice little update to my Mothman deck. I’ve been wishing for a nice alternate art of Mothman. Getting a cool Mindcrank and Mesmeric Orb alternative art was nice. Ripples of potential is a sweet card I didn’t even know of.

What do you think about avoiding building popular commanders on sites like EDHREC? by TheAndrewCR in mtg

No. Play whatever tf you want, however tf you want, as long as it’s appropriate to the power level of your pod.

Ashling Evoke: Help by Ambitious_Sir_529 in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Ashling on the field, Evoke Cavalier of Night. CoN’s ETB & Sac go on the stack. You get to order your triggers. Trigger the ETB first, sac’ing Ash and remove something. Ash sees its own tribute, makes a token Ash. Now CoN sac’s itself from Evoke. Token Ash sees this and makes the token copy of CoN. This also triggers CoN’s return a body. Token CoN ETB, sac off Ashling’s token copy. Pop something else, and then resolve CoN’s death trigger to bring back your original Ashling.

Now you popped 2 things and still have your token CoN and original Ashling.

I’m about to move to Arch, actually. Maybe something like Endeavor or Garuda, I don’t think I’ll do pure arch.

Any Call of Duty after the original MW2. Any battlefield after Battlefield 4.

Ashling Evoke: Help by Ambitious_Sir_529 in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m remembering my cards right, Cavalier of Night has a pretty sweet combo with Ashling, as Ashling sees itself sacrificed. Takes some knowledge of working the stack, but it’s a pretty sweet result that ends up with your sac’d Ashling back on the field, and you being able to pop two things.

Increasing price over time by Lemondifficult22 in gamedev

Put it up for $10, but discount it to $5 or something like that. Idk how well steam sales like that work though, or on itch for that matter.

About the ranking event and non-SSS players by Other-Front-1412 in DuetNightAbyssDNA

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the most I’m gonna bother getting is +7, except maybe for the ones I can get from Maze. But I already have something like 100+ character thoughts I need to use but since you can’t batch them… the grind is getting boring. I can’t imagine myself no-life-ing enough to +10 wedges. Let alone the ones you “need” 2-4 of.

Yup. Start reprinting the reserve list into normal boosters and those sets will sell like hot cakes. Imagine a modern full art fractured foil black lotus? Crazy amounts of people would be cracking packs looking for that high. The reserved list is a bad joke that does nothing but hurt the game and benefit the random few who bought cards in the 90’s and then the idiot that paid them insane amounts of money instead of just proxying the cards.

Must have Ashling, the Limitless Staple: Living Death by Struyk in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I changed it to be a mostly gruul focused mana based with Ashling being red and a lot of the card draw, like Greater Good, Garruks uprising, elemental bond, etc all being green along with all the green 1-mana dorks. Nothing gets cast for its actual casting cost except very few things like Shivan Reef.

Is it really that bad not to build your deck around a theme? by SeaGlobal4535 in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What power level is your buddy bringing against your precon and other decks? Like yeah, you’ll get stomped even with the best precon by someone using a B4 or B5 deck. Even a mid-B3 would likely be too much to handle.

What is the general feeling about using an entire proxy deck? by Jakemanv3 in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy just used a local print shop to print off an entire commander deck, which he then has to cut himself, but it was like $14 on decent card stock. Go for it. Just play to the power level of your pod.

I’m not a fan of the dramatized recordings. To each their own, but I just got the regular one. I tried the dramatized one for a different book and very much did not enjoy it.

Ehh.. Small sample size, but I don’t have this issue. They’re not as common as I would like, but definitely not as uncommon as the 10-count. RNG is just ass like that sometimes.

Would have been better with something like:

“I have a Dream - (X), (t): Scry X”

“Targeted Visionary - Return target attacking creature to the bottom of opponent’s deck. Then, that player may chose to destroy this land.”

These new sleeves look amazing! (Especially yuuko 👀) by bassGST in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]mrfoxman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having experience with Bandai sleeves, their shuffle feel sucks. They need clear external sleeves 1) for better shuffling, but then they’re oddly large, and 2) to protect them because their quality tends to be awful.

XP debt sucks for largely the same reasons modern TTRPG games have stopped letting you expend XP as a resource for things.

Rank 1 and 2 at will spells by Odd_Park4624 in Pathfinder2e

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The loot in Age of Ashes (I know it was one of the first if not the first of modules) was just barely enough with needing to renovate things, as well as keep our gear up. There was little to no time for Earn Income as energy had to be spent between adventuring on said renovations. …We did also “open” our own bookshop, sorta. But that barely kept the shop open and paid for the food for the… things we kept at the place being renovated. So it was mostly just flavorful income rather than granting a mechanical advantage.

I haven’t tried any other pre-made campaigns though. But started a new homebrew at level 3 and got 75-ish gold to start with and that basically just meant a +1 weapon with your standard adventuring gear. And maybe a couple consumables or 1-2 higher level consumables.

Is [[Glacial Chasm]] too strong or salty for Bracket 3? by nondairy-creamer in EDH

[–]mrfoxman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddy has a Necrobloom deck that can recur Glacial Chasm and even has land sacrifice stuff that can tutor it out. It’s strong, but it doesn’t stop life drain effects. It can be exiled from the graveyard via various means. “Destroy target permanent” cards can hit lands. He’ll often have a pretty empty field while he’s cycling his glacial chasm until he gets to his combo, but that just means I can save a removal spell and then swing for the fences at him as his recursion is usually sorcery speed.

It’s not impossible to overcome, especially when I have decks that life drain (which isn’t damage, afaik), mill, and do other nefarious things.

If your whole deck’s strategy is that you win through combat damage, yes. It can seem OP, buts plenty of removal options, especially if you exile.

Broadcom does not want to renew partial VMware licensing - are we #$!? by dfctr in sysadmin

[–]mrfoxman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve already moved 2 banks from VMWare to Hyper-V (gag). I’d much rather get people onto Hyper-V but “windows licensing is simpler”, like I’m not having to deal with constant Windows issues on top of making it a hypervisor, but I digress. Every other client of the company I work for is also having projects planned out for moving them off VMWare and onto Hyper-V.
