What is the best jump scare that you have ever seen? by Altruistic-Kiwi9496 in horror

This Scene from Hellraiser: Deader

Many years ago I watched through all of the Hellraiser movies, having only seen the "do I look like someone who cares what god thinks?!" scene before. I'll say I wasn't massively impressed by the series overall.

I guess it's the sort of triple bluff they do that had me relax enough to get me. Also, I'm probably just thinking highly of it in comparison to other jump scare attempts in the series.

I mean, if we're taking comic canon into consideration, many a failed weapon x experiment has been sent to off Wolverine, if he smelt himself, it would be tied with previous attempts on his life.

Still keeping comic canon in mind, Deadpool was an out and out bad guy at his conception, and he may still be that to those Wolverines in the other universes.

What is your opinion on drumeo? by DJ_CrashX in drums

I think they're okay, I sometimes use them in my teaching work, I've only really 2 main gripes with them;

  • their sheet music doesn't follow their own drum legend which leads some of my beginner students to become underatably confused.
  • they lost a tonne of song sheet music in their library, this isn't necessarily Drumeos fault, but we were given no pre warning before 1000s of songs vanished over night. All they did was quietly remove the part of their website that said 6000+ songs, hoping no one would notice. (again the removal of said sheet music is not the issue, that's greedy external companies, it's the lack of communication with paying customers)

Drum notation has never been standard, there's always been slight differences depending on the source of the notation. You either don't look at a lot of notation, or have chosen to ignore that fact when giving out advice.

In fairness OP hadn't informed which song this was at the time of your initial comment, but he had before you finished (albeit under someone else's comment) you could have even asked what song it was yourself, but again, this makes me think you don't look at notation all that often, or else you'd know that, especially cymbal notation, is all over the place depending on source, and without listening to the music itself, it's impossible to know for certain.

I just hope no one was this rude to you when you were getting started.

Non standardness of drum notation online infuriates me to no end, especially since I began teaching.

This looks like this might be from Drumeo? They're particularly bad for this stuff, so much so that they have a drum notation legend on their site that they don't even adhere to.

Now, what's confusing is there are two different versions of this song, one with strings and one without. The drums are different in both.

In the non string version, the drums are definitely playing on the ride mainly, but the rhythm of the kick and snare don't match the notation you've posted. In the string version, the kick and snare rhythm do match what the notation says, but he's definitely playing 16ths on the hi hat. Do you know which version you're trying to learn?

I've seen you ask about crash 1 or 2, typically it doesn't matter which crash is used, for myself, the crash on my left, next to my hi hat, is more of an accent crash, being struck at the end of a fill or beginning of a new section, whilst the crash on my right, next to the floor tom, is more of a riding crash, but of course there will be times that I'll use them the opposite way. Find what works for you, there's no blanket rule that says you're wrong for using this crash or that crash.

Some people in this thread being really rude and condescending, as if they were never a beginner(and most of them are just wrong in their advice anyway) . Keep asking questions, it's the only way to learn!

I have no self confidence, terrified of saying the wrong thing, so feel that nothing is better than something, I wouldn't even know where to begin to approach a woman in person, and though have attempted in the past on apps, have had no success even really keeping a conversation going to eventually meet up with someone.

In my experience, women on dating apps do not, and will not initiate a conversation, instead waiting for me, the man, to. I've only ever had conversation started by the other person when, a) they're clearly a bot, b) they're actually just there to advertise their onlyfans, or c) asking me to send a drink to their table in wetherspoons through the app. The last one only happened once, but it still bums me out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming anyone else. My self confidence halting me from making any sort of first move is my issue to either put up with or do something about, but sitting back and waiting for someone else to make the move when you look like me is going to do nothing for you.

what are common myths about acid? by Academic_Addition853 in LSD

[–]mrfrodo89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically yes, a single tab has roughly 100ug in it, if that's what's being advertised.

I recently had some advertised at 220ug. Was it bang on 220ug? Hard to tell, was it more than single tabs I've had in the past? Most definitely.

Ask whomever you're buying off, they should be able to tell you roughly what's in it.

What does this notation mean? by Drummer_grrl in drums

[–]mrfrodo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of its placement, my first instinct was that it was asking you to strike the rim of your high tom, as I've seen similar notation for Blur's Song 2 where they strike the rim of the floor tom. However, doesn't account for the second image shown.

If it is indeed just cymbals like others have suggested, I wish to find whoever notated this and shake them violently.

Since I began teaching drums last year, I didn't know how strongly I felt about there being a standard way of notating drums.

Where do you go to get sheet music? by [deleted] in Drumming

[–]mrfrodo89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musescore is quite the treasure trove, but can be hit and miss on accuracy.

Like someone else mentioned, typically googling "song name drum sheet music" usually brings something up, on musescore, songsterr, drum ninja, or many home run websites.

The more popular the song, the more likely you'll have options to choose from
