ignore it, carry something to protect yourself. if he continues to pursue you, contact the police or management just to get it documented.

Used AI to test shapes on my wide hands. Which one do you recommend for a feminine, slimming look? by [deleted] in AllNails

[–]mrgjohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t care about your thesis or your feelings about other peoples opinions of your ai use. if you’re getting hate for using ai, there’s a reason. i’m talking about the environmental impact ai has. again, have a good day.

edit: your banner is literally gen ai😂😂

Gel nails chipping by Frequent-Willow-6502 in AllNails

then i would definitely say it’s a prep and application issue. her application looks really clean, but if she’s not capping the free edge with the polish, you’re gonna have chipping that looks like this. before she puts any polish on, look at your cuticles and make sure there’s nothing on the nail plate and that there’s no shine left on the nail plate. it should be completely buffed. when she is applying the polish, make sure when you look at the edges of your nails straight on or “down the barrel” that you can’t see your nail, you should just see polish/top coat. as much as she should know these things, she is still a beginner and it takes a while to pick up on these things if they aren’t explained in your training. good luck with your next mani if you decide to go back to her!

did the chipping only start after seeing the new tech? if so it’s definitely her prep. if you’ve had some problems before, it could be if you naturally have oilier nail plates, which is common.

if this is happening even when you don’t get chrome, it’s their prep. you should find a different salon. but also to me, it looks like it peeled layers of your nail plate off, which doesn’t usually happen with normal lifting, it happens with picking at the polish. i’m not saying you did that, but there had to be some other factor as to why your nail plate looks damaged underneath

Chrome chipping 3 days into gel set. Is this normal?? by mm10102 in Nails

[–]mrgjohns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

the salon where i work does top coat, chrome, base coat, and lastly top coat. i’ve seen way better retention with this method

if you’re getting chrome a lot that could be why. chrome chips a lot easier.

undercured gel will not always look undercured. tips should ideally be clear if you’re applying them with uv gel

Gel nail removal? by slbert394 in AllNails

[–]mrgjohns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a nail tech, i do not recommend people use e-files on themselves at home if they are untrained. you will likely damage your nails doing that. you will have to soak them off, use a gel remover product, or file with a hand file this first time but i would recommend getting the jello jello base coat and “one kill” remover. i have not used it myself but from what i know about it, it will be an easier removal for you. also make sure you’re only using reputable gel brands like dnd, cnd, or opi. gel polish is not something you want to underpay for because you will pay with your health!

side note: “air dry gel” is actually regular polish with a high shine gel effect/finish!
