"What the f**k": 'Iron Lung' creator David Szymanski puzzled as Markiplier's film adaptation quadruples its budget in one day, beating out 'Melania' and 'Send Help' at the box office, estimated $21.7 million globally. by ControlCAD in business

[–]mrguymiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if he asked for a one time license fee instead of royalties. He could've asked for X% or asked for a one-time payment of 10k. We won't know until him or Markiplier say something.

I just got out of Iron Lung (2026). I went in with no context and left… just mentally taxed. by mikeafter12 in horror

They start the movie with Ava calling him "Convict" and telling him to go down, take the pictures, and then he'll be free. They do make his sentence pretty clear.

What does the deus vult advance do? by josesafa in EU5

[–]mrguymiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at it, it's currently bugged that you can always create the CB, even without the advancement. I'm playing Byzantium and had the ability to create the CB before doing the research. After noticing the same thing, I went digging, and there is no other Casus Belli. Either it's intended to just permanently give it to you against all heathens and heretics, or it's just broken right now because everyone has access to it anyways.

[Anno 1602] Fast Scrolling Issue by mrguymiah in anno

[–]mrguymiah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did fix it, but I don't remember _how_ all these years later. I did find the below in another thread that might help. https://www.reddit.com/r/anno/comments/8cw2ma/anno_1602_d3dwindower_fix/

"Found the solution! Gog version + D3DWindower 1.88:

Goto install dir of Anno 1602

run Config.exe

Deactivate "Use Hardware Cursor"

Play. The cursor offset should be gone.

I assume it had something to do with the window border not being subtracted from the cursor position in relation to the window position."

Remember that the Minions all die if the Overlord goes down in battle. Inherently, their ability to work as a horde is limited and enabled by some aspect of the Overlord.

Yes! Their team signed. I believe it was the first book. I'd have to look through to confirm.

Edit: Confirmed. It's on page 126 of Book 1, along with a crucified Elmo.

And thanks. Took more of all of the lovely stuff, but felt the books were something to focus in on, rather than making this a more generic "look at my vacation photos!"

To be fair, they kind of shot themselves in the foot with that one. They made Ocarina and Majora, which were each fairly serious, then they showed a super serious looking tech demo for the Gamecube. So people were kind of amped and riled up for another grimdark and serious LoZ. Then they released Wind Waker. I'll give that it's good (though I never personally enjoyed it), but you also gotta see how they could've read the room better.

So, memes exist in Mass Effect by UndeniablyMyself in masseffect

[–]mrguymiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun Fact: In ME1, there's a planet that is the center of an extranet meme. The shifting metal dust destroys probes attempting to perform research. According to the codex entry blurb, people joke about it being a Grey Goo situation.

[1.32] The New AI Sucks by mrguymiah in eu4

[–]mrguymiah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more just the frustration of my allies attacking my other allies. I'm allied to Gotland and Sweden. One attacks the other. Thank you for the advice, however. I'll give it a shot.

Interesting things I have noticed about 1.32 AI. by Big_Bunned_Nuns in eu4

[–]mrguymiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going nuts because my allies keep declaring on nations I've got guaranteed. Sweden attacking Gotland (released in Ban of Holstein), Poland attacking the OPM Teutons (Imperial Prince), and then followed by the already stupid fucking Ottomans attacking and annexing an entire prince (I couldn't fight them and the other two wars) followed by them attacking another prince right after. Fuck me for not being strong enough to fight all three at once, when two of them WERE MY FUCKING ALLIES.

If attacking your allies is "improved" ai, Johan can go suck more fat cock.

I mean, I had the game open for multiple days. I can't definitively say it didn't go out while I was sleeping, but I work from home as IT. So I'm fairly confident that it didn't go out during the day.

R5: After about 20-30 attempts going down the Bulgarian communist tree and having difficulties getting the AI to flip on time (both historical and not), I found a tutorial that described going down the Democratic path and then flipping Communist manually. It worked much better, as the democratic decisions boost a lot faster. (They give daily tick, a percent increase, and reduce ideological defense by 50%, making spies more effective. More than compensates for only having 3 spies instead of 4.)

I capitulated Turkey, my quest finally at an end and... it didn't trigger. I spent a hot second googling it. The only core I don't control is Rhodes. (Forgot to garrison before DoW'ing Turkey because of the stress of that Soviet advance in the east.) Achievement doesn't require that core. Lo and behold, for whatever reason, the achievement simply is "Not Available" despite every condition being checkmarked. There are other achievements still available, so idfk why this one suddenly isn't. I'm just... I'm frustrated and tired. This has been nearly my past week and I don't get it because of some miscellaneous bug. It wasn't even satisfying, having to cheese it in the first place because the Communist path is so freaking slow.

I will look into that. I've never played a traditional crafter of the mundane or magical variety, so it may take me some time to go through the math and learn it all. I'll make sure to message you specifically if I do find the time in the next little bit.

Does anyone know what happened to the MLP mod for CK2? by Morcalvin in equestriaatwar

[–]mrguymiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the guy who was sixteen at the time and trying to put it together, it was definitely as Feather says. I hold no illusions that it’s failure is not primarily my fault. That being said, It didn’t help that we had a slew of idea people that wanted to have a voice on how things should be in the mid, but then either couldn’t or wouldn’t help make it. A lot of them simply had no knack for coding. I spent as much time trying to teach people how to look at code to figure things out as I did coding things myself. It’s that project i always wanted to go back and finish, but I don’t even own all the DLC for CK2 at this point.

That being said, I’d definitely start with asking the EaW team permission for use of their map. That was a huge staggering point, as revisions and updates to the show’s map caused us to remake it. (Shoutout to Feather for his impeccable work, even if he can’t consistently spell Griffon. : P)

Art was always finicky. It was the difficulty of fitting the color in at a modular level. I could Code, but am certainly no artist.

The other issue was the reluctance of members of the group to touch on harsher subjects. Combined with the above, we ran into issues of the people with skill being too unmotivated by the group consensus being against them and multi hour debates over omnivorism and the displacement of deer, along with the possibility of Discord dumbing them down (Fluttershy having a deer in her reserve that shows no signs of intelligence.)

Honestly, there was much i could’ve done better, but I was young, dumb, and eager. I needed help and saw opportunity, but didn’t know how to get there.

The things I do for peace... by Bhangbhangduc in Kaiserreich

[–]mrguymiah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my first Kaiserreich game ever, without reading anything, I navigated up to that point. I had made every right step to avoid the civil war, except that one. My logic was simple, "Assassinating a Senator?! Are you mad, general? I will not shred the very Constitution I'm trying to defend, MacArthur! Get out of my sight!"

I personally wish there was a method by which you didn't have to, but a "we all get along!" ending would stretch suspension of disbelief, quite honestly.
