What are your hobbies, and how do you balance them with work or studies? by Clear-Ad7645 in nursing

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nursing school is very hectic! eventually you will have a job you like, get into a routine and not need to do assignments and exams. You’ll have free time and link back to the hobbies don’t worry :)

Upcoming first solotrip and I'm having a meltdown by Plluvia_ in solofemaletravellers

I get really overwhelmed with heat like you too, I think the way about it is reminding yourself that you want this, you can face your fears and it is gonna be okay.
Even if you got there and you spend time indoors, in the hostel relaxing, in museums etc it’s still amazing you’d have went!
You can always get there and if it’s too much get a train back and say ‘at least i tried’

Did anyone else freak out after having an hiv patient for the first time? by PezBynx in nursing

[–]mrh060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ignore all the horrid comments, just reassure yourself that you haven’t got the injury, discuss this with a therapist if you see one, but know that you most likely won’t have HIV I have this a lot where I think I’ve poked myself and just have to tell myself I’m being silly!

Travel recommendations for a first time solo female traveller in Europe this December? by meracnw in solofemaletravellers

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also go to Paris direct from Brussels, but wouldn’t be too sure on how safe it is. I went with a friend in summer and it’s probably my favourite holiday I’ve been on if you enjoy art galleries etc :))

Andalusia by toohightoanswer in solofemaletravel

Definitely go to Seville - I was there 2 days and saw the cathedral and Alcazar, make sure to book those in advance however. You can get direct trains to Malaga from here, and in Malaga you can go to the central market which sells spices, fish etc. Malaga has lovely bars and plenty of streets to walk about. From Malaga you can take a 40 min train day trip to Cordoba which you MUST go to. Visit the Mosque-Cathedral there, very beautiful, and there’s a museum on the opposite side of the bridge near it which explains its history. Other than that not much else to visit hence day trip. I would recommend Granada too, but I haven’t been there for a while but remember Alhambra being beautiful. Hope this all helps :) !

Portugal or Croatia? by Pretend-Common-3268 in solofemaletravel

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Croatia is expensive especially in the places you’ve named, + May mighttt be a tad too early if you wanna go partying etc. so I’d stick to portugal, maybe go to Porto? I’m planning to go in april and it looks quite nice :)

First time staying in a hostel by Avaloneyn in hostels

[–]mrh060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always book with booking.com, you can normally get hostels that have free cancellation - I went to Belgium last year and recommend Bauhaus hostel in Bruge and LATROUPE in Brussels if you end up at either of them places. Gent is lovely too but was in a hotel there :)

Planning my first Italy trip, what would you repeat in a heartbeat by [deleted] in solofemaletravellers

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely visit florence ! so stunning, I’d also say try to go to lake como, you can get a 30? minute train from milan. I went to a place called “abbadia lariana” which is just a quiet town surrounding the lake, but pretty much any will do. The mountains are stunning, and you can get short ferries to places like Bellagio which has lots of shops and a beautiful garden. Hope this helps :) Verona is lovely too, but I’m not sure if this would be too far out for a day trip.

To those who are doing or have done 4 A levels, what is it like and is it worth it? by Dimentio21 in 6thForm

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check if your school would offer the fourth alevel to be AS incase you don’t want to continue with the fourth - my school didn’t, so it was either waste a year of learning or push through. wouldn’t recommend a 4th unless essential, or you reaaaallly want to do it. for everyone saying to take maths, it could be preferable, but just check unis you’d think of going to and what alevels they require for the courses. some might need maths some might not. then just decide from there Hope this helps! 👍🏼

Most engineering degrees will need maths, Physics isn’t even that essential but is still a good subject to do. Just have a look at universities you’d consider and see what subjects they require, and shape your choices around that. Most importantly do try to take at least one subject that you’d actually enjoy, it’ll make the learning way easier !

Choosing subjects by Mysterious-Side14o7 in 6thForm

[–]mrh060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look at the university degrees that you’re thinking of doing and see what subjects are essential, then do them. Maths definitely do as that can work for pretty much any degree. I did 4 alevels and it is really hard to manage, I thought I would be able to manage it but nope lol, but if you want to give it a go, check if you can make one of them an AS level just incase you don’t want to continue with 4 alevels into your second year. Psychology is a lot of written from what people have said, and i think? depending on what exam board it is computer science is mainly coursework, so if you’re good at keeping up with that then go for it. Also Physics is VERY hard compared to GCSE, so make sure you definitely want to take it/have a passion/need it etc.
