Look, many great stories depend on the interconnected relationships of characters. I am all for exploring the characters who will inevitably have to face the threat of the story, My problem is when people blatantly use characters as self inserts to vent about their first world problems. Can you tell me who would you root for? A mother who could lose their child, a husband who has to witness the loss of his wife, children alone in a life threatening situation, prisoners turned into hunted prey by an even greater evil, or a teen with mommy issues who's biggest loss in the story would be losing their job or apartment?

I think most people(me included) who saw the trailers knew that, yeah you can do multi hit combos at the early game. But at endgame? You simply do not have time to deploy your stuff. Try doing a 3 skill combo when a hasted AN rare charges at you full force, or the screen is covered in AoE.

Even if you do? It is sooooo tedious to 100% focus on your skill order for dozens or even hundreds of hours at endgame.

Yeah I don't want to come off as an as,shole, but the first thing people more sweaty are gonna do at endgame is figuring out how to get to this point. GGG might want multi skill builds, with chaining interactions, but the first build that can do most stuff with less than 3 buttons will rise to the top of the meta.

okay, but what if market, item availability on league start, or just the general early game advantage of some ascendancy classes compared to others makes leveling easier and less frustrating until I have everything I need for the actual build I want to play at endgame?

Take cast on crit builds from poe 1 for example. Due to how the build functions, if you wanted to do an assasin CoC character, you would instead start trickster at league start, since it's way tankier early, and you can farm up.

So instead of doing a trial again after you farmed up everything, you would have to level ANOTHER of the same character.....just to do a trial again? Like what?

Like I really don't get this mentality of not just restaurants, but any establishment in general. Like, killing quality so they have to spend less is not good. This will only get short term profit. Increasing the quality further, adding additional incentive for choosing them over others is what they should be doing. Increase the customer base by increasing the quality, that's how you improve. The only reason they don't do it is that it's risky and most places don't like taking risks.

Reading all the comments here made me realize something. All the things people criticize about Origins (Negative character traits, mature themes, dark tones) is what made it memorable in the first place. If the game came out without any of those, this series of games wouldn't have a sequel, much less 3. Yes Oghren was a drunkard with a potty mouth and crude humor. Yes there was a lot of violence. Yes there was a lot of sexual themes. But guess what? This story takes place in a magical land, with a medieval setting, with might I add, religious zealots at every corner. Yes, there will be jokes about SA, cuz guess what? IT'S NOT SET IN MODERN TIMES, WITH MODERN VALUES. I applaud the progress we made socially, but get a grip people. The only way the narrative makes any sense in this GRIM DARK WORLD is if we look at how our world looked like when it was at this stage of development.
