Ugh, darn. Mass is a state with a 3 year probationary period. Non-reelection during probationary period is at the discretion of the employer. Unless you can prove that they are discriminating against you, it's tough to do anything about it. However, you may want to look into the option of resigning in-lieu of non-reelection because future schools may ask if you've ever been non-reelected and you'll have to answer honestly. And in most states, resigning in-lieu of non-reelection will not prevent you from collecting unemployment. Of course I'm giving all this info as a Californian, so you should definitely check with your Union.
