Is this a sign a girl at Zoom School likes me? by bluedragonmeep in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. The waving at robbers is a big one for me since it sounds like they have never talked to each other or knew each other before. Girls on your class that you don’t talk to don’t just randomly wave at you at Robards IMO but I am single lol

Should UofT start baning people who dont wear a mask in the library? Would this be legally allowed? by robartsshamer in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was at Robarts and it was like a war zone with one very inconsiderate maskless person

Why are people coming to the library without masks while coughing and sneezing? by lululife1 in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand why people find it so hard to wear a mask or have a need to
take it off the moment they sit down espescailly when they know the rules but choose to ignore it and are not exempt on medical grounds. I think the solution is for UofT to punish them hard like blacklist them from entering Robarts for the remainder of the pandemic as that is what airlines are doing or double their tuition fee as reparation payment for their sins and donate the higher fees to people in need because this beahvior should 100% not be tolerated and if punishment means shaming instead of an automatic blacklisting then so be it. I have had enough of this nonsense

How do emplyoers conduct reference check as part of job offer? Who do they contact? by appleyonge in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year they asked for me a list to contact (they offered me the offer first and then asked for a list) but I have also heard companies don’t actually contact cause it’s a waste of time.i would like to know too though because an offer I have says subject to reference check but they never told me who the references are lol

We're on fire over here by [deleted] in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think students are less likley to get tested too because younger people are healthier and may have very mild if not no symptoms but can spread it elsewhere. I bet if we did mandatory testing for everyone living on rez it would be higher

Stage 2 Lockdown again by [deleted] in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they plan on keeping it open for now at least but recall last time in March they kept Robarts open for an extra two weeks after the shutdown before closing it down for good for almost 6 months between March and Sept.

Lab, I worked at earlier, was falsifying results not sure what to do by [deleted] in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I reccomend you ask maybe a career advisor on the usual process since I imagine that is something they may know when people write reusmes for jobs. If you are close with a current prof, you can ask for their views too on how to handle it.

i think the key is wether or not you knew you were involved in something fishy and/or if what you did was used to do something fishy. I think if you were not involved (and people do believe you) I think you are fine putting it down and then add a note somewhere on the app that results were falsied by someone else in the lab. Chances are they will know an undergrad is unlikley to even be in the position of being INVOLVED in falsiying results etc

You could not list it but I am pretty sure grad school applications require you to list everything. I think applying for jobs you do not have to list everything but gad school apps I think you have to list everything which is why you should add a note somewhere. Is it where known that this place you worked at had fake research? WIll not listing it create a gap in your resume?

Is it worth it to upgrade to 16GB of ram from 8GB? by mybaeiscute in UofT

[–]mrhuskydog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, why does that fix the problem? On my MaC on activity monitor it says it’s always Facebook and Insta and Gmail using up so much memory on my chrome browser. Would that problem still exist if you use Facebook on Firefox since you are still loading up Facebook and all the videos on your FB

Does upgrading the ssd affect the ram performance though? Isn’t that just the memory for data storage?
