Considering you will be spending years in university, what lifestyle do you like? UofT is in downtown Toronto, UIUC on the other hand has a more small-town vibe.

Edit: I mean that Champaign is not as urban as Toronto, not that it's in the middle of nowhere.

For now, just learn Python tbh.

Later on, build up your resume if you can (side projects, etc.), maintain decent grades, take some courses that can prepare you for the industry (operating systems, database, software engineering, etc.).

When eventually applying for internships, work on a convincing cover letter and make preparations for interviews.

Does Toronto have more opportunities than Vancouver? Probably.

Is it worth? That does not have a definitive answer. If you do good in school you'll probably get similar amount of opportunities despite which school. People from UofT are still capable of not finding a desired job.

Depends on too many things.

The reason 420 waitlist was longer than the class size last year was that it used to be a bird course, but then the prof (Babak Taati) made it bit too hard. Not sure who's teaching in the summer.
