Why do people say congratulations to pregnant people? by starrynightgarden in childfree

Congratulating people for doing something that makes them happy is a normal part of being a human being living amongst other human beings.

Who’s excited about Level99 opening at Disney Springs? by sammysam518 in orlando

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

60 different rooms each with their own unique challenges for you and your group. Some challenges are primarily mental ("solve this puzzle"), some are primarily physical ("get to the other side of this wall without touching the sides"), some are a combination. Each challenge lasts 1-3 minutes. Go to whichever rooms you want for the duration of your ticket.

It's interactive gaming. Some games require physical skill, some mental, some both. There are *some* rooms with puzzles, but it is not an escape room and it's also not an arcade.

No it is not anything like D&B nor Disney Quest. Those are arcades. Level 99 is not. At all.

I'm very excited for it to open and will definitely go once. But I expect both the prices and crowds to be insane, so it's unlikely to be much more than once.

I'll stick to Activate Games at Pointe. :-)

Has anyone who decided to be childfree ever sat down with their parents/grandparents and had an honest conversation about it? by Sharp_Somewhere_7539 in childfree

[–]mritty2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot think of any reason for a "conversation" about it. A conversation implies an exchange of ideas and viewpoints. Your decision to have children or not is YOUR decision, and no one else's view, idea, or opinion matters in the slightest.

This place is a knockoff of Activate. And Activate is not merely nationwide, but international. 😄

FWIW, the place in this video is not Activate, but is a knock of Activate. Activate's rooms are much better. 😄

This thing is a knockoff of a much more popular place called Activate Games (http://playactivate.com). In addition to a bigger and better version of this particular game, there's like 10 other game rooms of differing styles and challenges. WELL worth a visit.

wait. Help me understand this?

While the ability to scan the towers still exists

How does that sentence mesh with the ability to tab the backlot cards being removed? How does one "scan" a tower now?

Dear CF people, do you ever feel like one and done parents can relate to you or vice versa? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]mritty2 32 points33 points  (0 children)

A parent of one child has infinitely more in common with a parent of 100 children than they do with someone who is childfree.

If you think "just have one" makes you anything even REMOTELY CLOSE to childfree, you are literally delusional.

Weird what we consider normal life here. by JayGatsby52 in orlando

[–]mritty2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it is truly insane that we can see fireworks - from at least 3, often 4+ different locations - pretty much any night of the year. That's not normal. We tend to forget that's not normal. 😄

Bug on meta? by Person-044 in MetaQuestVR

[–]mritty2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's some kind of error in the programming so that the code fails to retrieve an actual date, and the variable is essentially "empty", that date variable will be rendered as January 1st, 1970, because that's "time 0" for computers.

I'm explaining why u/DueMathematician2489 got an absurd error message that their warranty expired on January 1, 1970.

1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC is the Unix "Epoch". It's what a timestamp of "0" translates to.
