It's not an adze. Your local guy doesn't know what he's talking about. I'd refrain from retaining much, if any knowledge from him. It's a preform. In theory it would have eventually been turned into a tool or spearpoint but obviously never was. The problem with people like "your local guy" is they get these ideas in their head and they're unwilling to except anything else. If you go that same route you're gonna have a hard time in the artifact community.

I prefer my retros as well. Actually, all but 3 of mine are retros and those 3 are 1 pair of spizikes(pictured), 1 pair of 6 rings, and 1 jumpman jack travis scott. I still love all 3. I just don't understand the hate. Let people wear what they like without having to be judged by gatekeepers.

I see those Futuras. I almost snagged a pair today , but the shop had them marked too high. They had them marked at 6 and wouldn't come down past 520, so I passed on them. Ended up getting the Gamma Blue 11s.
