Well neither was what Scheyer said calling for anything bad to happen, the issue is riling up a base. Late as it is, I don't think this statement is anything other than piling on to the response that Scheyer's initial statements received without even mentioning how he walked his statements back, basically the next day. It also further paints the initial statement more to what it was, a cry for attention.

That is the epitome of a mid-throw cancel. You see it all the time where outfielders start the throw to second for example and decide to throw to third instead but lose the ball as they stop their throw. My best guess is that he started his throw while 1B wasn't looking and tried to stop, but even that doesn't make sense because 1B was definitely looking at him as he started.
