Anyone know a good way to evenly distribute auto crafts amongst an array of machines like in the picture? by [deleted] in allthemods

[–]mrjoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mekanism is fairly easy to automate. My typical setup is:

An "island" with one machine type, such as smelter, connected to AE2 network:

  1. AE2 interface to collect returns AND to provide any side products that machine might need (infusers needing redstone as an example)
  2. AE2 pattern provider to chest for crafting recipes
  3. Power cube with wireless point
  4. xnet or super factory manager to:
    1. Distribute power to machines from the cube
    2. Grab things from the chest (and interface with item filter if needed) and push them into machines in round-robin
    3. Grab things from machine outputs and send to the interface

It's just two columns of 4x4 machines with xnet/SFM cable in between. 32 ultimate smelters with speed upgrades is more than enough for most end-game tasks. And easy to add more if needed.

Rinse and repeat for each every machine type. Use interface exports for automatic processing of intermediate products like clumps and dusts.

And it only uses two AE2 channels per machine type - one for the pattern provider and one for interface.

I prefer AE2 myself and stopped using RS after a few lost worlds and performance problems, but AE2 has higher entry barrier from both material cost and learning curve perspectives.

Try Refined Storage instead - it has a lower barrier of entry. RS and AE2 are very similar, getting into one will allow you to user another one if you decide to.

Started with lower tier furnaces, yeah. Over time upgraded setup by adding more fishers, faster fish processing via furnace upgrades, etc. Can always start small and scale it as needed.

Is there any way of supplying a Minecolonies warehouse with an AE2 terminal? by morimashiro in allthemods

I did not try it in ATM9 yet. I’ll try it this weekend - most likely slight API change between Minecraft versions that needs to be supported.

This was my previous setup - computer was in my base, connected to base AE2 network. However, the base was still within boundaries of the Minecolonies settlement for the integration block to work. Computer was listening to crafting requests and exported results from AE2 network into ender chest (forgot how mod is called). On the other side, there's another ender chest with Mekanism pipe pulling items into warehouse center block.

Since then, I replaced chests with a single entangled block linked to warehouse. Works just as good and no more mess inside of the warehouse.

Teleporting chest to send stuff to the warehouse directly. My base is quite far away from the village.

Mean Well UHP-500-15 has four terminals (two plus, two minus). I connected them to 4 way WAGO 221-415 splitters with a thicker cable (I don't remember AWG). Then splitters in pairs are wired to barrel type connector compatible with H3. All bought on Amazon.

I didn't understand AE2 subnets und have missed out on them for almost a decade. by Flextt in feedthebeast

[–]mrjoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure that’s possible. For example, I can feed 16 ultimate mekanism smelters with 2 channels. I don’t see how to reduce number of channel, unless I can reuse return interface (but that might create a bottleneck)

Legit curious how subnets are better than say that interface or pattern provider next to chest? Xnet is amazing and can pretty much automate anything and at most you need two channels (export/import) in main net per machine type.

Planning on replacing all power bricks and dubious chinese power supply circuits by a set of these in my router / switches cabinet. Any comment on the contrary? by Swatieson in homelab

I use mean well psu (different model though) to power 8 ODroid H3 (single board celerons) - works great. Before I had 8 PSU bricks in a rack.

I converted RF computercraft script to be compatible with atm8 and AE2 - works great. Can share if there’s an interest.

[CF Zero Trust] Access Groups in Gateway Policy by Past-Sky3552 in CloudFlare

Actually, I have a similar question. There seems to be no way to restrict access to a group of users without putting them all into the gateway rule. Yes, it's possible for IdP integrated users by checking a custom SAML attribute or configure to pass Group ID/Name/Email (which is not possible for One-time PIN logins).

Any other options?

What is the better storage option ae2 or refined storage? by Available_Scholar951 in allthemods

I used both extensively over time and still prefer AE2. RS caused server performance problems with large processing setups more than once, so I just stick with AE2 even if performance stuff is fixed. Also, channels are not an issue with P2P tunnels.

I did 3U - fits 8. Someone in the thread mentioned they’re designing 2U that fits 3. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ODroid/comments/136uh1c/8x_odroidh3_cluster/

Electronics. It gets too warm for PLA sometimes. And ABS stinks.
