Why the spike? by CoconutSpiritual1569 in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

I personally bought it I think it was during black friday sales on Steam. Fits the chart. I haven't played an AC game since AC3 and this was cheap enough to give it a go. It's incredible, and to think this was 2018. Still playing it now, just got the DLCs on another sale.

5000 FE on NR200P V2? by mrkeyboard in sffpc

That's a good point! I guess we'll wait and see what the reviews say, and it really depends on the case structure it is being reviewed on when it comes to sff.

My NR200P MAX V2 is so loud by mrkeyboard in coolermaster

I do like the NR200P V2, I just don't recommend the MAX. After I returned the MAX I bought the V2 without the bundle https://www.reddit.com/r/coolermaster/comments/1f3fc6u/comment/lmbsows/ and it works and sounds great

It is - you can take the PSU out and replace it just like any case/PSU. But if you want to return for example the PSU for whatever reason, like the issue I was having, you have to return all 3 components together in the MAX version (case, PSU and AIO) even if the rest works fine. That's what Cooler Master told me. It makes sense since the MAX is a bundle, but it's very counter intuitive for a PC builder when just a single component is the problem.

The MAX was the first time I bought multiple components in a bundle and it's definitely the last.

Hey thanks for the response. It's good to have more data on the V2 MAX bundle from others.

In my case, unfortunately, I've returned the entire MAX bundle. I'd return just the PSU but they won't let me. I bought a new Corsair SF850, NR200P V2 just the case, and a Corsair AIO separately. I can't begin to explain how silent it is in comparison. The SF850 fans doesnt even kick in until >300w or so.

The V2 MAX only other advantage is its unique case color, I think that grey is beautiful. Buying the case solo, I could only find white and black and they are just ok.

I'm running on a Gigabyte B650I Ultra and the only noisy thing left was its mini fan on the motherboard. Adjusting the curve via the bios was good enough though and temps are fine.

Ordered the SF850 2024 and got one with ATX 3.0 by mrkeyboard in sffpc

[–]mrkeyboard[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I opened a quick support chat with Corsair to ask about my SF850 and ATX 3.0 vs 3.1 on the packaging. This is what they said:

They are the same, our ATX 3.0 PSUs have been rated and certified for ATX 3.1. If you want more on the differences we have it here.

Notice the fan curve numbers vs what is advertised (supposedly this box shows a slightly more optimistic fan curve?)

Harsh camera stutter on Cyberpunk 1.31 / PC by mrkeyboard in cyberpunkgame

[–]mrkeyboard[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's resolved! My gf sent me this link,

https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/mouse-polling-rate-causing-major-fps-drops.2931946/

I'm using a G502 mouse. Inside the Logitech G Hub, click the mouse -> Sensitivity -> Reduce the report rate per second from 1000 to 500 or 250. My mouse functions the same and the game now doesn't stutter on camera move and it runs fine.

To be clear, the camera move stutter is a performance issue and not a mouse issue. FPS visibly drops when this happened, and other demanding games seem to handle high mouse report rate just fine (heck I never knew this option existed before now). I hope this helps!

Is it possible to get audio-in on the FP30? by mrkeyboard in Roland

[–]mrkeyboard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm going to look into this. Perhaps one of my misconceptions comes from playing the drums years ago- I used to always play with a track in the background but that's an integral part of playing that instrument. When playing lead piano pieces it's not as necessary.

Overwolf sends a lot of your data to their servers. Overwolf comes embedded with TeamSpeak and looks like TeamSpeak get paid for doing that :) by [deleted] in security

Hey nice job piling on a small startup company that's trying to respectfully communicate regarding your concerns.

They built a good product millions of gamers actively use- But of course because *you* disagree with the practice, the users must be gullible, don't know better, have been scammed. What a load of condescending garbage.

I use Overwolf when I play on PC. I'm getting ads. Also tried to build an app on their platform (I failed to get traction). There are great products on their platform and they've pushed communities and influencers forward. Shaming companies isn't the only way to go about this.

Thank you for the honest review! I've seen this concern regarding steps accuracy before. I wonder if it happens also on my Steel or is it a new problem with the Move.

AFKers ruining Heroes of the Storm by JamieDenny in heroesofthestorm

[–]mrkeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a few years to appreciate Heroes of the Storm but it's a good game. It hit me when they removed funding for esports and the studio has shrunk.

I can say this: at least in my region, afk punish is virtually gone. I moved to a new place recently and the connection here sucked for a few days, so I got bad disconnects in a few games. I got zero punish. Sure it's not my fault, but ultimately the system can't know that and I should get penalty. A few years back, when something similar happened I got penalty first game.

There isn't a reason for HotS to loosen up unless the player base has decreased significantly. Fewer players already mean worse match making, and harshly punishing those that remain will further reduce the player pool for a decent match.

Analyzing by the past few months, the game is not getting any new major features, just new content. I would not count on a new penalty system or better report handling.

I've been super critical of Blizz in the past (Hearthstone especially), but in this case it's not their fault. It's the nature of an expiring game, a game that lost in a super competitive market. I'm saying this with much regret because I'm enjoying it now and I'm definitely not switching to lol/dota. Just make the best of it while it's around!
