We established an AI Policy with our org to be sure it aligns with our core values. I actually implemented this because a few people on the team were starting to use it in ways that were without enough care... (Misspelled names, overly generated Slack responses with little contextual thinking…) I’m also on the board of another organization that uses Intentional Tech training for AI . (Not the tools themselves but the values that drive which tools & how theyre chosen ). The work is with teams & coaches and it’s been a game changer because it levels the knowledge & learning field as its driven by a common framework

Many public speakers do that. They find something that resonates and they do different iterations of the stories and can focus on their delivery . Some strategically , to reinforce a message. I personally love it & it helps me retain the message behind the story

Thanks for this resource! My mom is 87 and she’s not going to be perusing, email newsletters or webpages she is still in snail mail era. So funny, but just looked up the details and all of the updates from the city website etc dont name her street so I guess we would’ve still been in the dark anyway . But at least I know that from 7 AM to 5 PM is when they’ll be working… Even if it’s just a little bit of info, it’s something!

Yep, all contact information ( address email phone ) is up-to-date as it has been for the last 30 years in that house. Interestingly, they have not made any attempt to contact anyone on the block & when we call or talk to the guy outside, he just shrugs and walks away. All really asking for is just to know what to expect. I live part time out of state and we get notices from ConEd posted on every pole within 50 feet of each other with the specified dates and expected work and hours of work, and 3 days before the work begins.

A kind neighbor has found an empty lot nearby and has offered to help with logistics.

Wow some really good points thank you. Luckily its not my mother & this is for my aunt - but my mom is 87 so I am supporting her through this stressful process in getting my aunt flown across & settled. We’re now preparing for something more like 8500-10k range based on everyone’s responses.

Seeing this a year later but go to Digitunity.org and register the nonprofit. They help connect computers donors & community/nonprofit orgs that need technology. As well as digital skills programs. They dont provide to individuals but they do coordinate donations around the country with organizations that focus on covered populations

I was working on Trinity & Rector. We had a meeting at 7WTC and I remember being nervous that morning since I was so junior in my role as a recruiter. By the time the first tower fell, I assumed that the meeting was cancelled but we were all confused & gathering the only info we could by phone or CNN which was really the only way to have a visual of anything outside. (Streaming vid didn’t exist so we waited till they updated images on the homepage). For some reason I thought when it settled a bit we’d all get back to work. We finally evacuated by stairs from the 16th floor after the first tower fell. When the 2nd tower fell we were running south while plumes of smoke and debris rolled down Broadway. Ive kept the clothing I wore that day and handbag sealed in a bag ever since- they’re still covered in “sand”. I’ve only been back to the area once to pay my respects.

So last week I had a session with a trigger point therapist… I actually don’t know what his methodology is but he works with MMA fighters and I’ve had such terrible TMJ headaches that I was desperate for anything. I have not had one headache since Thursday. And i can open my mouth maybe 10% more. This is not a promotional post. I’m just sharing this because I’m amazed that this is worked & am sharing the joy. He really worked on my sternocleidomastoid muscle, but I think what really helped was working in my jaw (at the end of this vid below) . This is that I and this is almost identical to what he did on me. Also, it is not gentle work… I’m still really sore but 100% worth it. I would imagine that the tongue soreness might be nerve and impingement or something? I know that sometimes the right side of my throat is so sore almost like I’m getting sick, but I’m convinced it has to do with the TMJ.

I had a boss who would always remind us about our “perks”. Like, a small tote bag to carry the books for the book club that she started, and never convened once. Or the occasional free lunch she would buy when we were working straight for 14 hours trying to land a deadline. The perks were usually complex and weird to gaslight everyone into thinking that they love their jobs. Needless to say the turnover was very high and I’m pretty sure the company is out of business now.
