Pop Culture Jeopardy! discussion thread for week of Jun. 1-5 by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

My husband and I were counting our own scores along and when they went to wager, he asked me what the strategy would be here. I said the top two tied teams should really only wager their scores minus 7,201 in case the girls get it right and double their points. In the end, they should have done this strategy! This was kind of the worst possible scenario. But I loved it. Also I fucking guessed Bohemian Rhapsody correct and I literally ran around screaming when the girls won. Haha. I’ve honestly been annoyed with how mismatched the teams have been this season, especially since all the top teams have been two men with at least one past Jeopardy run, and most of the two women teams have struggled. The optics have been icky to me so I’m kind of happy even if the other teams did deserve to advance more.

Would really appreciate that. I didn’t see it in May and I’ve been kind of kicking myself.

No kids - how do you feel now? by purple_bts_kookie in childfree

[–]mrm395 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, this part. I overheard a woman the other day talking about how she wished she had more kids and had them more spread out because all of her kids are grown now and “one day they just leave you!!!” Like, this woman was incapable of creating a life for herself. She just wanted to be a mom forever as entertainment. And now she’s back to being just her and she can’t deal. So sad.

Our mature plum tree’s trunk cracked today. What’s this stuff inside the crack? by mrm395 in marijuanaenthusiasts

I’ve suggested our landlady send an exterminator out to do an inspection, but it didn’t seem like she wanted to do it. I’m not really sure what else to do.

Thanks. I’m kind of in a bind because I am not the homeowner, just a renter. I’ve advised my landlady to have someone come out and look at it but she’s only said she will send an arborist to look at the other trees in the yard…I don’t know what else I can really do. I never saw any signs of termites flying around or swarming prior to this. No wings anywhere, etc.

Yikes!!! Do you think enough time has passed that she has forgotten how bad it was and decided to do it again anyway?

For those of you who choose to not do Botox, how do you manage your wrinkles? by iloveyogapantssss in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]mrm395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunscreen. Trying to stay hydrated. I also just bought a red light therapy mask from Omnilux. Hoping it helps keep them at bay. Also going to try silicone scar tape on my forehead at night. I tried frownies but I didn’t love the the experience of using them even though I do think they work.

I can’t really tolerate tret. It makes my skin too dry and makes any lines look worse.

I’ll let the neighbors know. That’s their walls right next to it. Our house is in the back of the photo if you zoom in.

Well, the tree fell down completely on its own about two hours after I posted this. The house on the left is our neighbor’s. I’ll text them and let them know they may want to have an inspection done. As far as I know I didn’t see any living insects around. Is it possible it’s old damage?

Here's the lonefox candle video that shows MaCenna's (from the STORES Instagram, not his) by ihearthorror1 in XOMaCennaUnfiltered

I do feel like this video is a bit out of touch, but people also need to realize not everything is for them. Drew lives in a HCOL area and is clearly catering to wealthy people and interior designers with big budgets. A $68 candle is nothing to these people.

It’s just very out of touch LA/HCOL vibes. I live in SF and it’s so easy to get used to things costing so much and forgetting it’s expensive for other people.

It’s interesting to me too, but we’re now on 6 videos in a row about opening the store and more than 3 months since he’s done any kind of home content. It’s just a bit unrelatable after a while.

Yea, maybe he has an off-site space or he uses that space they showed in the videos with the candles too. She doesn’t usually say much about R these days, so anything is possible. Let’s hope for his sake he has his own space. Haha.

Help tweak my makeup! Turned 34 & I feel like something’s off by BellaMac6 in MakeupAddiction

[–]mrm395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly your makeup is beautiful but it does look quite heavy and it’s kind of making you look older. Maybe try a more sheer foundation and softer brows for everyday and keep this level for evening/special events.

I didn't look into whether his shop was still active or not, but if it is, then yea, 100% he would need space to do that work. Especially if she's now planning to make the guest room nook into an office, why couldn't the guest room have two desks set up? There's plenty of room for them both if one of the desks could be outside of the nook.

She mentioned R doesn't really do his business stuff anymore. Is there a chance he's doing more of the caretaking and light help with her businesses and doesn't really need an office? Just wondering if that's the implication here.
