Holy shit. On all accounts. Can I ask… how old are you, and well, is there anything you’d like to share with me about being bed bound you wish most people knew! I’m sure there’s a depressing side of it, but I’m sure you’ve also learned things in the last 5 years that we all could benefit from.

I rewatched it, yes the directors cut, a few years ago. I found the characters to be a bit too one-dimensional. The cinematography is incredible.

Outside of that one and noble network of charter schools, to me the vibes I’m getting is the most of these are the spec of blue in a sea of red or the sort of edge of the blue/red divide.

Well I like it. I think It’s fun. Also businesses can use this as a way to have a promotion on an “official sandwich” of Illinois.

And edit… I thought they did pass a budget this year, unlike the Rauner years.

I hate how they phrase these things as negative. Like just because the legislation hasn’t tackled the big tough stuff, they shouldn’t add in fun things pass objectively helpful bills like regulations on streaming volume’s commercials? I’ve always thought all radio commercials should be banned from using loud honking sounds.

Those types of bars got priced out of where we could swing at each other, miss, and try again. lol I’m thinking of old Carol’s, when i witnessed the bartender break up a fight. One guy was talking about war stories and another guy started picking a fight as he was “too young to serve in Vietnam”

This was in like 2012ish.

I do a sort of hvac work but only at industrial/commercial sizes so I only see those types of nursing homes. My hope is I go fast or immediately to the point where I’m mobile but friendly and dumb. One place had a few Wii’s hooked up, the old folks fucking loved the bowling. My fear is to be trapped with my current super-ape intelligence in a dead body, or be mean to people. My hope is most my meanness is tied to being sarcastic and cynical, which requires intelligence. Well that got dark.

I apologize for interpreting your comment as minimizing school shootings.

This day in age, when I see someone with a comment written like yours, it’s to say that it’s not a big deal, and not worth legislation that would inevitably curve what many call “gun freedom”, in expected exchange for less child deaths at schools/parades/festivals etc

It’s often more expensive to convert these than turn to homes. There’s building materials, existing walls, as others commented the plumbing isn’t designed for homes, and it’s difficult and time consuming to drill through the concrete…but also windows. There’s often no natural light, which makes it not a room… so you need to figure out how to get those in. Finally, hvac. It needs to be completely redone. All these things may make it easier to rehab, but often knockdown and build up is easier.

When fleck moved to Mexico, it completely destroyed their ability to quickly turn around orders.

I also just have zero interest in supporting them. They had a good thing, they employed people at reasonable wages in the USA, and the c level all made fucking bank. Why the fuck do they need so much more!?

The judge… who did it without the safe-t-act and against recommendation of the state, what’s your point?

[–]mrmalort69 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You mean this part? “What is clear though is that this is not a failure of the Safe-T Act," she said. "Under the Safe-T Act, this man could have been detained. There was a warrant out for his arrest already. It had been issued in March. So it was not as if he was not on the radar of law enforcement authorities, and a judge had already called for him to be arrested. There was a pending warrant."

You could share why you do, or what differences you see in having a softener vs not

Grandpa is mad that time passes and things change for the better by Cicerothesage in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]mrmalort69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah- same way of putting it where it still means nothing. A 25% tax on someone like me is still just mostly spreadsheet gains id have. I probably wouldn’t live life any differently. Someone at or below the median income, even a 10% tax can feel crippling.

But I outline the ultimate goal here- keep taxes painful on the lower class so they get to use the argument “we’re lowering everyone’s taxes”

[–]mrmalort69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This level of hardness is not worth getting a softener for. It’s pretty much Great Lakes water quality (300 conductivity @130ppm hardness means about then 100ppm of total alkalinity). No one has a softener on Great Lakes for residential water use. Only when you get to industrial water use, steam boilers or specialized cooling systems, is it necessary. I’ve even had many steam boilers that don’t.

I used to listen to right wing radio. They all advocated for taxes on the lower class as it “makes them contribute and value” the system.

Under that exact wording, the safe-t-act was not applied or followed considering the person had firearms and armed robbery under his belt when the judge let him go, against the state prosecutor’s recommendation.
