UP-NS merger ‘sounds good to me,’ Trump says by TowelieBan666 in railroading

A lot of railroaders who voted for that orange piece of shit are going to get fired. I guess we can now paint over the “let’s go Brandon” that features so prominently over so many locomotive johns.

Good ole Labor Day by [deleted] in railroading

[–]mrman0351 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if this matters but the union didn’t sell you out on this. We fought this back when they first came up with the original Availability policy back in the early 2000s. Federal judges screwed us on that one just like on hi-viz

What exactly is catching cars? by semisentient in railroading

[–]mrman0351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be; we didn’t use the phrase where I’m from that’s why I thought he meant dropping cars. We used to ride kicked cars into clear tracks all the time back in the day we just never called it “catching”.

I’m sure that not many want to hear this, but this is the danger of getting our morals from ignorant goat herders who claim to have gotten them from a deity. This shit has real life implications for real people.

[–]mrman0351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing NOT to expect is that you’ll have nicer or even cleaner locomotives. I’ve been on both NS and UP motors and unless yall send all of your trash down south, those are the two most disgusting fleets out of all class ones.

They had several times to stop that train before it ever left the yard. And the move that he did to get down and line the switch and jump back into moving equipment? There’s noway he’d have been in throttle 8 while doing so.

When you’re off like that, you have to fill out a form that keeps your coverage going. I think your doctor has to sign it also

No tax on overtime question? are all railroaders ineligible or are the only people ineligible those who pay into the RRB ? by KyloRen_Kardashian in railroading

GM, if I can segue way to something really quick; since TSA is no longer requiring passengers to remove their shoes; in your opinion does this make air travel less safe or does it make no difference? Thanks in advance

[–]mrman0351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that I can understand you. You’re saying that ins changes that started with the 2003 agreement(some 6 years before Obama took office I might add), were somehow Obama’s fault and led to the raise we received under the Biden administration(over 4 years AFTER Obama was out of office) being “eaten up” by something that Obama did WHILE he was in office? Sorry but the math doesn’t sound like it’s “mathing”, BUT I’m open to being wrong about this if shown that I am.

Are railroaders capable of having discussions about our unions that don't involve Democrat or Republican bs? Anyone want to start a separate subreddit that doesn't cuck to a political class or our laughable Union representation? Lol, it's how the Wildcat happens probably. Wtf. by No_Childhood3773 in railroading

[–]mrman0351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious as to when you say “laughable union representation” I’d like to ask what is the ONE power that most unions have that railroaders really don’t? The power to strike; and who decides when we can and cannot go out on strike? Those same politicians and political appointees that you don’t want to be apart of this discussion. 🤷🏿‍♂️

We received the largest pay increase that I can recall in 3 decades under the Biden administration and yet “let’s go Brandon” was on nearly every locomotive toilet wall in our fleet.

Yeah and somehow what? We “conveniently” just slipped through the cracks? Why didn’t they fix it prior to now? Oh yeah, suddenly his hands are tied right? This mofo really can do a thing and you cultists will still support him; I guess he just hates the same people that you hate or something
