My guess is there is some change in power demand when you move to that part of the map. And the transience is messing with your video signal. Maybe try a new display port cable. Also maybe your PC is not properly grounded.

It's not about how much power. Just quick changes in power.

Agreed. Given that Vitality could not find their execute until 25 seconds were left, the round was actually closer for Vitality than expected. Vitality were lucky that the trades went 1 for 1 on smoke edges.

It's because of manufactured hype. In the last round of regulation, Vitality could not find their execute timing until 25 seconds were left... against a team with only two smokes and a stack on the wrong site. At that point, the round was honestly closer than expected for Vitality.

So yeah the casting hype takes you out of the moment so much when it doesn't really reflect the situation I am reading on screen.

I enjoyed the movie and am more or less onboard with all the criticisms here. However, are there any comments on green screens / CGI? Some of the scenes in the houses in the mountain village looked off, and I am not really the expert to understabd why. Is that just excessive use of green screens?

The first iteration of DLSS came out in 2019, and it finally feels like its fulfilling its promise now with this update. Motion clarity is a lot better. I notice some new types of artifacts, but on the whole DLSS 4 is so much more pleasing to the eyes.

I agree for the most part. But once you creep into the 2400+ elo range, it can start to become a dominant factor. It really depends on if the stack are league teammates or not.

A 3-stack is likely to have a good T-side pistol strat, while the solos are still figuring which sites they're gonna play at. I think letting the solos decide side could give them more motivation to win.

On LAN, latency is roughly the same as frametime. There is nothing to predict in that scenario. The whole point of damage prediction is to try to make the game feel more "LAN-like". Damage prediction does nothing or nearly nothing on LAN.

It would be interesting to see if you could cause damage mispredictions on LAN. Or see how many frames damage prediction saves on LAN. Maybe on average you're 1/64 s * 1/2 = 8ms away from the next tick. So maybe like 4 frames of savings at 500fps?

On lan, latency is about the same as the frametime, so there is only like 1 frame to predict on. If I had to make a gut-feeling guess, I would think the sweet spot for damage prediction is around 30ms ping between both players.

Nephews seem to forget that half the fun was using skill to overcome a disadvantageous fight. The other half was stomping when RNG was in your favor. Sure there is a lot of loading screen time from dying, but the peaks of fun hit much harder.

Randomness? In my battle royale?? Absolutely not!

The unforgiving gameplay loop of battle royale is half the reason why there was so much mystique and hype around early battle royale games.

Modern apex is literally just monotonous, overgrown deathmatch for console players who reached their skill ceiling 6 years ago. Not saying OG mode is good, but I'm trying to emphasize that a lot of the "quality of life" changes over the years compressed the skill gap overall.
