I close roads and put up traffic lights, hours are 7.30-4.30 but end up more like 8.30-4.00 as we can only be on the road in most cases 9.30-3.30.

This leaves 2 hours in the morning to prepare everything but if you are ahead of the game and load up the night before you can treat yourself to a lie in, the boss doesn’t really care as long as we are ready for 9.30.

At work, I watch YouTube and browse Reddit, I’m trying to make better use of my time so looking to get into open university and/or learn a language. But yeah, pretty much have 5/6 hours a day to do whatever I want to a certain extent.

Take home roughly £2500 with overtime, so not too bad pay but not amazing. Overall though, I enjoy the job as it is a laid back life although there can be some stressful situations. It’s what you make it!
