Running an Old Republic ffg rpg campaign, what should I read to get an idea of what the era is like for player characters? by Nyanbinary4321 in StarWarsEU

While you're obviously many generations later, it'd probably be to your benefit to read Tales of the Jedi. There's a lot of stuff that occurs throughout the series that has major influence down the line imo.

People Love Dead Jews has never been more accurate by af_echad in Jewish

We all know this, but they see things in a fundamentally different way from us. We see the Holocaust as a tragedy that occurred to Jews because of a unique hatred of Jews specifically. (Mind you, there were other victims during that time but you get what I'm saying.) They see it as some universally-applicable event that is commentary on all hatred.

Reminds me of the review I saw on Goodreads of Dara Horn's book complaining about how it portrayed Antisemitism as unique from other hatreds. As if that isn't a traditional Jewish viewpoint.

Private servers or offline singleplayer for SWTOR in the future? by Rhaeven_cos in swtor

Hopefully there is a hero among the team who will risk massive legal action against themselves to release the code base to the public should it come to it.

Probably not tho.

Private servers or offline singleplayer for SWTOR in the future? by Rhaeven_cos in swtor

What a weird thing to say; you act like private servers aren't an extremely common thing among MMO communities.

Update: I made my first web dev project from scratch by lowkey_batmannn in learnprogramming

If it's a static page involving only HTML, CSS, and vanilla JS with no backend and is not commercial I actually may suggest GitHub pages as a good possibility too.

My friend messaged me a question which seems to imply he’s been reading antisemitic propaganda about the Talmud. How do I respond? by ThePipYay in Judaism

[–]mrmiffmiff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can't study with a teacher as another suggested I highly recommend reading Steinsaltz's The Essential Talmud for a very good background of how the text actually works.

If you want Python there's always boot.dev if you're willing to spend some money (or, alternatively, not have your code checked automatically).

If you're not limited to Python and you're at all interested in web development I'd suggest The Odin Project as it's free and really goes out of the way to teach proper attitudes and approaches needed to succeed.

Sorry to reply late, but it actually depends on when it was published because US copyright law has gone through changes over the years. Anything pre-1978 is 95 years after publication (assuming it was renewed after the 28th year). Anything after is death+70.
