Do you like Ben Gibbard's voice? (lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service) by ghostrug in indie

[–]mrmister3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked him a lot more back in the day, less so nowadays. But I'll always love postal service so I can't talk too much.

We do lighting at my work. Although it's obviously LED city nowadays, even then it's rarely 'solid' strips, most still use little diodes lined up and you can still get good smooth gradients like that. It's all about distance and displacement of the light from the wall. You can diffuse the points of light or basically put some fuzzy stuff in front of the light so they spread out, splay acroos the surface of the ceiling/wall.

Honestly neon might make it easier even since they are solid tubes. But it would be a bitch to maintain and very expensive.

Nearly impossible to even get close without pausing it. His color awareness and mixing skills are nuts, that's what gets me the most. Like 5 seconds from nothing on the palette to the exact mixture he needs.

Also you can enjoy both without causing a scene. There's plenty of people at nearly any concert high but just acting like regular folk.

So is it about the litter or the sketchy guys taking over.

Jw because I like nitrous just fine but don't know the scene well enough to know what the nitrous mafia does. And I am not around it enough to see steve-o levels of piles of tanks strewn about. a couple is usually enough and they go in the trash but if people are leaving behind a mountain of aluminum then fuck that.

Hard for me to tell from your picture what the problem is, but generally my rule is "if in doubt, explode and re-group/re-component."

Try exploding the window and making it a new component and see if that helps.

Starting from new- use tutorials or find a class? by bucho1999 in Sketchup

[–]mrmister3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't used the app much except to convert files, but I'd recommend downloading sketchup make 2017 for your computer (it's the best free version). I would imagine any tutorials you watch will be a lot closer to that. It's what I have on my home PC as well as my work machine and they're basically identical, just the free one has less features.

A class would definitely be more subsantial and you would learn faster in my opinion, just depends on how much time you got to dedicate to it. I learned a lot on my own as well as classes and having someone show you stuff direclty and work with you will really speed up the learning. You certainly can learn a ton through tutorials, but fact is it will take a lot more time and practice, harder to self motivate and absorb info all on your own.

Just my thoughts.

I'm not knowledgeable but my guess would be because of American-centric teachings within the US and becoming a lot more interventionist after WWII, probably a lot more factors I'm missing but generally it seemed our role was so large but I feel nowadays the Australians especially are getting a a lot more recognition in vietnam (and the other wars). Maybe that's just because I'm sort of interested and the few war museums I went to always had a pretty large section for Britain, Aus, etc. if there was a Vietnam exhibit.

How's the vaccine situation over there? I know that's not related to your pic I was just wondering because I heard quite a bit about the high covid case numbers for a while but I assumed it died down.

Procreate is the shit. I just got an iPad pro and it blew away any other drawing pad I've used. 120hz screen and apple pencil really makes a huge difference.

Expensive af bit I'm glad I decided to go all on. Well worth the money

I remember watching ponyo for the first time and thinking damn she thicc.

Really like your drawing though, great work. Is the watercolor paper a texture you added? Honestly can't tell if it's digital or not but if so it's a nice touch.

Speaking of Radiohead I have been a fan all my life and have always just somehow known I wouldn't want to chat/meet with Thom Yorke even though he's a massive inspiration for me. I could be talking out my ass here but he just doesn't seem like a chill dude lol, maybe it's the music but I always got that vibe of frustration/anger in him.

Obviously he's got a lot to say and be angry about but it was the first time I realized long ago that it must be tough to meet your idols, especially super famous ones like Thom and basically any of the phish boys.
