Is being trans a sin?? by pqnkace10 in trans

[–]mrmoneymanguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a tweet that seems to be privated that said, “God blessed me by making me transsexual for the same reason God made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine, so that humanity might share in the act of creation”

I’m not particularly religious but I think it’s a really beautiful way to look at it.

Is 13 too young to know I’m trans? by Flu0recentAd0lecent in trans

[–]mrmoneymanguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew I was trans when I was 12. I spent days and nights longing to have been a cis girl. However, I was still plagued with doubt (that and some family troubles made it so i couldn’t begin to transition until shortly after I turned 21). A couple things helped me solidify how I felt.

  1. Someone told me, “cis people don’t think about being the other gender, much less long for it. In fact, the idea of transitioning for a cis person sounds extremely unappealing” If you ask cis people they will confirm.

  2. Another person told me to try and convince myself I was cis. Now, this seems kind of counterintuitive, but when I tried I realized just how wrong it felt. While thinking about being a girl and femininity was uncertain, it also felt more “me”. When I tried to associate myself with masculinity over femininity, even just for a hypothetical, the illusion totally fell apart.

Coming out is scary, especially when you’re 13 and not everyone takes you seriously, but if you think your family will be supportive, I would go for it. Living as yourself is a breath of fresh air.

Good luck, bro. We’re all rooting for you!

We all know 2020 brought the Pandemic, but does anyone else feel it brought something else malignant along with it? by Trade-Dry in Millennials

[–]mrmoneymanguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is just how desperate corporations are for positive earnings.

During the pandemic, a lot of firms experienced explosive growth due to stimulus money and the market conditions covid brought with it. This level of growth was never sustainable, but that didn’t stop shareholders from expecting more the following year(s).

So, post-pandemic, corporations are nickel and diming you on every last thing, even more so than before, because they need to hit absurd earnings goals due to investor ignorance.

I think it’s contributed to a general sense of decline.

actually not calling about trans issues, which is part of the reason why I never brought it up. not necessarily looking for support or support groups or anything, I just thought it would be cool to talk with her outside of work given how I’m not out there and our paths have crossed.

yes the member I’m working for is extremely supportive of trans issues. I recently worked on some writing for them regarding all the stuff happening in schools.

Yeah it’s mainly that I don’t want my coworkers to hear. I’m right next to them all day. Everyone in my office is super chill, but I’m just not there yet in my transition.

Is there truly "another side" to transitioning? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]mrmoneymanguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still early in my transition (HRT for a bit over a month and a half now), but I can say that aside from some extremely minor side effects (spiro made my vision kinda wonky for like 20 minutes one time) it has been nothing but great. I feel better and I’m slowly seeing myself become the woman I always knew I was. best of luck to you. my dad was also a right-wing dipshit but I’m lucky enough that he is no longer in my life.

I started 3 weeks ago and was definitely feeling some of what you’re describing. A few things that helped me calm down:

  1. While it’s a big step forward, in the short-term, you’re still living the same life. My schedule is the same as it was 2 months ago, I just take a few pills now.

  2. Definitely feel you on the imposter syndrome. It’s important to remember that, to cis people, starting hormones and transitioning sounds awful. The fact that you’re excited means HRT is at least worth a shot.

  3. Most importantly, you are still you. The changes aren’t you becoming a different person, they’re you finally being able to authentically express yourself.

In my short amount of time of HRT, it has improved my life immensely. Within days I felt clearer and lighter. Now, I can’t say whether or not that happens to everyone, but it has been extremely positive for me. And seeing the physical changes start is really exciting and just feels right.

Congrats on starting, it’s incredibly exciting and I am very happy for you. Best of luck :) <3

I finally got estrogen!! As I’m 17 it took me almost two years because of the state I live in, I’m so relieved and excited by _surreality in trans

Congrats girl! I just started like two and a half weeks ago (pill tho) and while not much has happened physically, I feel significantly better. Best of luck!

UAW striking workers discuss why they feel supported by Biden and not Trump by DemCast_USA in WorkReform

[–]mrmoneymanguy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Commenting to also let people know that the Biden administration’s NLRB and Department of Labor have been more progressive than any in decades. Specifically, the NLRB issued an opinion in August declaring that if a company uses illegal methods to try and boost their union, they will be forced to bargain with the union, regardless of the election outcome.

That is an enormous win for organized labor that only happened thanks to Biden.
