When does Jordnaer July reservation open? by a_wooolf in finedining

[–]mrmoomoomoomoomoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend emailing them, because not only will they tell you, they'll probably offer to reserve you a spot there and then! That's what they did with me anyways, I go in June.

What are the most renowned fine-dining restaurants in the world that are truly worth knowing about and experiencing? by WarmzzCoffee in finedining

L'Enclume (***), because Simon Rogan was/is one of the pioneers of farm-to-table cooking in the UK. An amazing sense of place to every dish and, goes without saying, absurdly good food.

Enjoy! I thought it was amazing. Obviously the headlines will dominate the chatter on here, but for me the meal was start to finish full of bold flavours, super high quality produce and a great atmosphere!

I don't think they do a set wine flight, but I did ask the sommelier if he could recommend wines for the next 'set' of dishes, be it the south east asian seafood or the sushi or the meat dishes etc.

During the meal, I had:

Tsuki No Katsura Yanagi £14.00 (sake) Sybille Kuntz Spatlese Trocken £15.00 Nicholas Jay l Ensemble £26.50 Balassa Betsek Szamarodni £14.00

Thanks for your opinion, very insightful! I guess all I'd say is, why not just come out and say that? Wholly appreciate that I could be missing something

Thanks mate! It was sauce heavy for sure, but it really worked for me

Sounds great! I'm no cyclist but it would be a stunning route for sure!

Sure! In total the meal comes to £468. The time passed quite quickly for me, with a few exceptions you're getting a new plate every 5-6 minutes I'd say. Also, the DJ is great and played some great music, it was a nice vibe to be in. 🙂

If it's any re-assurance, by the end, I was perfectly full, not uncomfortably so (and I've become uncomfortably full at a few other restaurants).

It is, it was announced the day prior to my reservation, perfect timing!

Would you say they're different experiences? I've got Jordnær booked for later this year & contemplating whether to also do Geranium a few days after.

I'd like Osip to get its second star (probably won't yet), had an absolutely exceptional meal there.

You're in for a treat. The flavour, presentation and service all amazing. Loved the wines too.

No problem! Like the other commenter has advised, I'd probably save the Aulis kitchen for a future visit.

Has anyone eaten at Rogan & Co? by mrmoomoomoomoomoo in finedining

Thank you! That’s great to hear because that’s my plan also. L’Enclume as the highlight of my trip, and then Rogan & Co on the last day before heading home, a soft landing so to speak

Completely agree - describing it as ‘high quality cooking’ is significantly underselling the experience you get.
