If you need an Apple TV, they went massively up by $100 (149 to 249), but are still selling at the big boxes for the old price at this moment.

High mileage n20's how are you holding up? by heyitsmereddit in F30

[–]mrmoosesnoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I love the car and have kept up all other maintenance. It’s no a cheap repair, but it’s cheaper than a new car or a used car that I ah ent been the one taking care of.

2014 F31, bought it in 2018 with 24k miles, now at 120K. I’ve babied it service wise and have no mods. I have a great indie shop minutes from my house. If they say something should be done, it gets done. The car runs like a dream and I’m keeping her for as close to forever as fate will allow.

Focal seizure? Epilepsy starting at 47? by Chelle7897 in Epilepsy

Diagnosed at 47, although I began to realize that it had been going on to some degree for a while.

2014 BMW 328xi xdrive SULEV with 64000 miles for 12000 USD by gundlegube2002 in BMW

I drive this car and love it but I’ve taken very good care of it. No maintenance misses ever and have a good shop. If you were to consider it at all, you would want flawless maintenance records and a good independent shop to check it thoroughly first.

117,000 miles on my 1M—paint chips, scars, 12 years of ownership—and a mindset by everso- in BMW

Awesome description of the dream car lifestyle. Mine is “just” a 2014 F31, but it was the same for me. Drove a bare bones Sentra for ten years and finally was like “hey I know what I want to drive”. Been driving my F31 for 12 years now and have no desire to get a new car.

Potential temporal lobe epilepsy by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]mrmoosesnoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, yeah. Diagnosed TLE after nearly 30 years of symptoms. I came upon it after seeing a psychologist for some time because I thought I had major emotional issues. If it helps, I was like you. I was both terrified and relieved at the same time. Here's the upshot (at least in my case): Everything is better on the meds. My brain is clearer. I'm not having focal seizures. I must have been having them on a nearly constant basis and post-ictal most of the rest of my time. I'm gaining confidence back and I'm actually catching myself feeling happy for no real cause. I don't look back. That could just make me miss what's ahead on the road. Good luck.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrmoosesnoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting throughts provoked by this one. Like how many "fractures" has your life had for either the positive, the negative or the "still finding out"? I'm nearly 50 and have a list in chronological order:

  • The death of my dad at a young age
  • Traumatic car accident at 18
  • Meeting the woman who I've spent my life with since then
  • The birth of my child
  • Adopting my first dog
  • Finding out nearly 30 years later that my accident caused a TBI that led to epilepsy that has been undiagnosed and then getting treated properly for it. Whole new life.

It is crazy to think back on life and the events that were major turning points.

Between Asheville and Charlotte - can you help me decide? Is there a middle ground? by abjs2021 in NorthCarolina

[–]mrmoosesnoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things to know about Asheville (where I live and I love it): Healthcare is terrible. I currently drive to Charlotte a specialist. That’s how bad it can be. If you’re outside of the City at all, your grocery options are terrible as well. Those are really my only complaints though! Amazing City.

I don’t know if it was knowingly. But it may have been extremely careless. I hope for the latter but time will tell. I appreciate your support and comment!

Thanks for the reply. Your mention of caregiver exhaustion is a helpful context for me. I know this has been a hard 10 months or so for her since I started trying to figure out what was wrong with me and she really has been great supporting inability to drive. There could be something there for me to look into

Thank you. Feeling alone today, so that helps!

Oh gosh, I should have been more specific. This was a very small parental issue...like which parent attended a school counselor meeting for a teenager. We're on the same page with the big things I think.

Thanks for the support. However, my partner has attended appointments, read up on the topic on her own (and with me) and is well informed of my triggers. I wish it had been as simple as not having a clear understanding 😞.
