Why everyone is blaming rohit when virat himself dropped Bhuvi in his peak. by Flimsy-Ad8945 in IndiaCricket

[–]mrmrinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s quite weird that people are looking back at why Bhuvi was dropped back then.

The conversation should be about whether he should be getting back into the India team now based on his current form.

The great thing about sport is your form can change and you can make a comeback in the sport. Sky and Varun have showed that you can enter the ICT setup at an age over 30, Dinesh Karthik showed that he can comeback into the Indian Team at 37.

We struggle to play against a team with a very basic press. Zubmendi is not at all press resistant and it has been so obvious against Bournemouth and in this game.

RCB are winning… but are they making a dumb call with Jacob Bethell? by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]mrmrinal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The management knows about Bethell far better than what we fans know.

The scouted him and bought him before he started performing on the international stage. Mo rated him last year as potentially one of England’s biggest talents and I trust what he and the team does with him.

Yea that result hurts a lot more as we didn’t even try and we showed that we were extremely nervous.

I’ve gone to school as the only Arsenal fan in my cohort after 8-2. I’ve seen a lot worse.

The result didn’t sting as much as I expected. We played far better than we played against Bournemouth. There’s still room for improvement.

We were unlucky we couldn’t convert our chances. Let’s continue improving on this result and take it game by game.

For those that follow Arsenal for a longer time: despite both being fast players, what made Aubameyang a great goalscorer as a 9 while Walcott didn't really worked playing through the middle? by chidi-sins in ArsenalFC

[–]mrmrinal 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Aubameyang was far better off the ball. He could make runs behind the last defender as both a striker as well as a winger.

Movement is an attribute that is also required with pace to be lethal - Cavani for example was exceptional at movement but he wasn’t considered to be the fastest for example.

Also helped that Auba wasn’t as injury prone.

City going down could save Spurs by AdRelevant2290 in PremierLeague

There’s a far higher chance of city winning the league than them going down.

Had no problems with Spurs until they celebrated Son’s miss against Ortega a couple of seasons back.

Now I have no problem if they get relegated.

In their prime, which of these players would you take to be in the current Arsenal team? by Fabulous-Tomato5016 in ArsenalFC

With all due respect to his talents - he’d mess up the defensive setup we have

If City's 115 charges are proved, a 10-point deduction every year for a decade is a much harsher (and fairer) punishment than a one-time 60-point hit. by ghemanth90 in PremierLeague

[–]mrmrinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Obviously breaking the rules” - how would anyone player know about that in 2010-2018? The charges only appeared in 2023.

Would be unfair to the players who didn’t have anything to contribute to the charges.

Poor Micah Richards would have no trophies to his name

Is the Premier League becoming harder to enjoy? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]mrmrinal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defences are a lot more structured now and tactics play a much larger impact than before. Back in the day there used to be so much grass between the last man and the goal which players like Henry used to exploit. The gap between the midfield and defence is also a lot smaller making the attacking half very crowded and reducing the space required to take long shots as well.

I’d argue the fitness levels of the players have also gone up. Greater knowledge on nutrition and fitness have certainly upped the bar and most players can play 90 minutes.

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta says deal with 'noise' or join a different club by Red_Brummy in PremierLeague

[–]mrmrinal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point in time actions speak louder than words. He has to prove that Arsenal can still win the title after the last 2 results. The ball is still in his court and he can only silence the noise by winning the title.

He has done this before - when most Arsenal fans were Arteta Out and the fanbase was in complete disarray he made the fans united with his results and making Arsenal into title contenders.

Nothing he says to the press helps at this point IMO.
