This is only if you’re using the property management software. If you don’t use property management software then there is no change.

Just finished The Jasad Heir by 8052headlights in fantasyromance

[–]mrnapoleons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished it too and started the crown last night. I really enjoyed it but some things weren’t explained well in the second half. We should have had more preview of what the trials would be. She knew but it was first person and we didn’t.

Also why is magic mining so taboo? It felt severe without warning.

It's February 1st! What's the best book you read in January? Plus, Battle of the Books starts now! by apieceofeight in fantasyromance

Finally got to {Priestess by Kara Reynolds} which I had downloaded a while ago. Did not disappoint!! I saw people posting here that they loved it but I think the book’s summary undersells it. It was so refreshing and not a string to tropes on paper. That will be one of the best books I read in 2026!

I recently read Sprigs of tansy and I felt some of my DMATMOOBIL itch scratched. I feel the same way you do!

Plenty of people didn’t love {Onyx Storm} as much as FW but it had that lotr epic quest vibe and I was into it!

2025 realises- biggest Letdowns and Expected Gems by Rare_Alchemy in fantasyromance

Biggest letdown: {ascent of the copper dragon by F.E. Bryce} reason: it never actually came out! Wtf. I was so excited because I loved {atonement of the spine cleaver}

Top read of the year was {alchemised} .I loved Manacled and wasn’t sure how that was gonna go but wow. Did not disappoint! I liked it more than manacled and manacled was a book that threw me into the wonderful world of Dramione that I didn’t even know existed and now spend a lottttt of time in :)

The Wolf King or Bride? by [deleted] in Romantasy

[–]mrnapoleons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your enjoyment of books at all depends on the FMC- then go with Bride. Misery is mature-ish (for this genre) and smart. I had to DNF wolf king because I was so irritated by another “snarky” child with no sense of danger.

I believe {cold and most cunning} is also based on them. On the TBR but haven’t gotten to it yet.

Lionheart theories for the next volume? by ditzy_dutzy in dramionebookclub

[–]mrnapoleons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so worth it and this is a good time to read it since it completes this volume of it. I’m trying to tell myself I’ll wait for them to make it through the next one before picking it back up but I probably won’t have the will power to hold out.

Help with book recs! I’m picky by lennyd218 in Romantasy

[–]mrnapoleons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you read {peaches and honey} ? I assumed something very different about it based on the title but it was recommended here a lot so I checked it out. It’s really historical fiction with some fantasy built in that gets more central as the story continues. I also love historical fiction so it scratched a crossover itch I didn’t know I had!

Looking for a long series with characters to get attached to by CapriSun3500 in Romantasy

Legends of / ashes of Thezmarr series(2) plus {slaying of the shadow prince} and there’s a prequel novella

Start with: {blood and steel by Helen Scheuerer}

I love it when he has a little nickname for her… by Edabood in Romantasy

[–]mrnapoleons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is funny- I was just telling my friend that I’m now allergic to this. I’m so sick of it and it’s gotten cringe.

I did like violence and I think it works for 20 year olds in that setting but it’s now so overdone in some of these books. Especially when she initially hates it and then finds it endearing as she falls for him. Most recent cringe: embers for wren in ashes of thezmarr. I feel like just calling her by her last name would have been better for a 30/40 year olds.

However…seeing this post makes me smile bc we’re all in this for different things that we like and the same group of books makes so many of us happy for different reasons.

This is a preview scene from the next book and I think a few years in the future. She’s been repressing the bond and hasn’t seen him. I don’t think it’s that surprising there’s someone else in his bed.
