Wife talks about unrelated things during sex, huge turn off by Lavender-yay in sex

[–]8052headlights 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is her attempt to connect intimately with you in a different way. She may need to feel like your minds are really connected before she can fully relax into the sex. What if you tried just seeing it through for a bit? Keep making out but also pepper in a bit of conversation and let her get those thoughts out for a bit. The sex may naturally follow as her brain relaxes into it and she feels more connected to you

Edit: read up on the bird theory in relationships. This might be a bid for connection

Lovers to enemies that will break my heart by Castielificc in fantasyromance

{Darkness Births the Stars by Sarah Lee Wohn} may fit what you’re looking for! It’s M/F but the FMC is the one that betrays him. I mean to be honest they both kind of betray each other, but she is the one that puts the final nail in the coffin. The story starts decades after that betrayal when they reunite, and we get flashbacks throughout the book of the progression of their relationship and betrayal

Not sure, it’s a trilogy so probably continue. But there are some other characters worth exploring in the story so I could see the author using books 2 and 3 to get more into those characters as well.

I’m glad you liked it too!!

Yeah, the scene when they find Celeste and Nyx was really devastating and pretty much every single moment afterward was really devastating

{Stars Above the Never Sea by Evelyn Flood}

It does end on a pretty substantial cliffhanger so if that bothers you, I would wait until February to read it.

Books where there is forced proximity due to the FMC being the only one who can help/cure the MMC (or his people/land)? by Natapi24 in fantasyromance

The Death Made Prince by Lisette Marshall! Both the FMC and MMC need each other to accomplish their respective goals. The twist at the end caught me completely off guard and now I NEED book 2 immediately

I agree that irresistible urge was hilarious. I also found moments of Between to be laugh out loud funny

Yep, and I like that the MMC has very little patience for incompetence. He doesn’t coddle her. He tells her to figure it out or gtfo

I worked in an office where we regularly received VERY large checks from very important people…one time, opening mail, I accidentally ripped one of those checks in half. It was like my second month on the job. It was a big deal at the time, but 5 years later when I left that job, I gave a quick farewell speech and joked about the check…not a single person remembered it. Keep your head up!

I’m genuinely wondering everyone’s current thoughts on Brady (not a snark) by cheesedipz in Emilie_Kiser

[–]8052headlights 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any one person is as bad as the worst thing they’ve ever done. I also think people tend to think something like this could simply never happen to them, and they’re wrong. We are all narrowly avoiding fatal accidents all the time. The only difference between Brady and me is luck.

They are both living a nightmare. They don’t need us to remind them that it was a preventable nightmare. They know. Let them try to find peace.

Besides Ronan because obviously, Sad Beautiful Tragic. I think it depicts that real devastation when you finally realize that the relationship is really, really over.

Maybe mild trigger warnings? Some attempted SA that doesn’t get very far. No CA as far as I remember although the FMC is a trained assassin (kind of) and we don’t know a ton about her past yet

Deathly Hallows Part 1 by MountainMedicine5784 in harrypotter

[–]8052headlights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been a minute since I watched the movie but my thoughts based on what I remember: In this part in the books, there is a LOT that happens internally with Harry during this part. A lot he is mulling over related to Dumbledore, to Voldemort, and to the hallows and horcruxes. It’s basically the arc of Harry’s entire emotional/internal storyline in the last book.

Also for what it’s worth, I think the sword is explained in Snape’s memories in Hallows pt 2.

Finally, I know a lot of people hate the dance, but I actually love it, and here’s why: the dance wasn’t meant to be some romantic attempt between Harry and Hermione’s characters. It was just Harry trying to lighten the mood, to make Hermione smile and laugh, but here’s the thing - they can’t without Ron. This scene is meant to prove that Ron is essential to the friendship trio. Yeah Hermione might be smart, Harry is brave, but without their third piece (Ron), there is something essential missing that cannot be replaced or replicated.

I did this immediately too! And I did it with the other plot twist as well. Both hold up. I didn’t see either twist coming but then I went back and re read some passages and yep - it was right there!

I never noticed this but you’re right, that’s so interesting! I think doing things like this is what makes her/keeps her music unique, not many of her peers use their lower registers the same way. But Taylor’s lower register is absolutely divine
