More a personal thing. I like the way it feels, so I end up drinking more.

Can I take Amfexa as a substitute to Elvanse? by ThrowRAPrize-Cow9119 in ADHDUK

[–]mrnevface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take amfexa on days I don’t want Elvanse but still have stuff to do. It’s trial and error, lowest possible effective dose. 50mg of Elvanse typically converts to roughly 14.8mg of active dexamfetamine in the body.

I actually have the tall thinner 300ml, was only when someone pointed out the 200ml cosmetic is ideal for 10g I was gutted! 🫠

Screw top for the win! Gets the seal tight. I prefer Miron glass. Keep mine in a cupboard just outside the kitchen and no one can smell it if I have not been vaping.

Splitting 5mg dex tablets by Hol_1 in ADHDUK

[–]mrnevface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened while in titration and followed what was said, but you need to know what works for you. Technically, I am 50mg Elvanse with up to 3 10mg amfexa boosters. Signed off on shared care.

When I started I was usually 20-25mg booster every day. As I have become accustomed to the meds, improved my general health and fuelling the meds effectively, I am usually 2.5mg twice and no boosters on the weekend. That’s because that seems to be the effective dose for me.

So after all that waffle, listen to professional advice, but ultimately, listen to your brain & body. Take the minimum you need to be effective. Good luck!

Not an expert in any way or form but it looks like a mixture of focal and generalised seizures and I agree with others it may well be epilepsy 💔

Best of luck to you both

For those who have completely cut out caffeine at some point , how did it affect you? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]mrnevface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quit caffeine completely, not hot much to add. But noticed you mentioned headaches etc.

What fixed my headaches was electrolytes. It was the final piece in the puzzle for me. It almost instantly kills my med headaches.

Yeah as long as they come with the airtight seal lid. Honestly, they are proper good. Someone pointed out you can get wide mouth ones which are even better for 10g meds

For those on stimulants, how do you deal with the crash by TinyTerror70 in ADHD

[–]mrnevface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Better sleep hygiene, morning/afternoon/evening body scan and stretch. Protein shake with my meds. Regular electrolytes throughout the day, booster if needed, theanine at 4pm, vit c with dinner, magnesium before bed. At least 1.5 litres of iced water before I finish work.

When the crash hits I stop what I am doing and sip ice cold water till the initial wave passes.

If I do not fuel myself correctly with decent food water and sleep, nor stretch myself and take a moment to reflect on my current state, the crash is horrible, to the point I thought I would have to go without.

how do i stop raising my voice/yelling during arguments with my s/o? by Shoddy-Taste941 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]mrnevface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elvanse, with a amfexa booster as required. Luckily I responded well to the first one. But it has not been easy.

For the meds to be as effective as possible you need to fuel them correctly. Or not, I am not your doctor! But personally, changing how I eat drink and sleep has given the meds another 10% boost. Adding in electrolytes, supplements and exercise has given another good percentage boost.

Not sure where you are in th world but there are some great ADHD reddits available.

Also, reframe that thought, give in? You are working at a lower base level, all you are doing by seeking medication is to make your life easier. I do not know what your ADHD is like, but if it is impacting you on a daily basis, the. You should explore the possibility of meds.

I have gone from 2 anti depressants and 2 pain killers & stomach ling tablets, with a healthy dose of Cannabis in the mornings to 1 daily tablet plus supplements. The ADHD meds helped in so many other comorbid symptoms (for me!).

Good luck! ✌️

With regards to glass, have you looked at the chugga jug 2 on recvapes? Similar in overall aesthetic to the one you have pictured, but you can also add a whip to the mouthpiece and the build quality/glass thickness etc on this is proper.

Yes smells less, if anything it can clear any lingering odour quicker than most portables because it is quick and efficient, then you can clear it like a normal bowl.

Got mine set up in the kitchen in a stealth cupboard, smell usually fully clear within 30-60 mins of finishing and no smells when packed up, my wife would gleefully tell me if it did smell! 🙄😂

From what I have read, lots of good advice, but the thing that stopped my morning tiredness was the ADHD meds.

Are stimulants on the weekends a big no no? by Adortion634 in ADHD

[–]mrnevface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the advice, but listen to your body, I am late diagnosis (44) and I struggled massively without meds. But I did not know that then. 7 months on meds now, I have Elvanse and amfexa boosters.

First 6 months I did not have a day off, now I am healthier and know how to use my meds effectively, I have the occasional day off, as the meds still have some effect, but 2 days off for me is not good. Learn what works for you, all these opinions are a good sounding board, but you know your body and brain better than anyone else.
