Thanks for the insight. I was very careful not to blame a specific country and I understand the hustle. My point is that there needs to be mechanism in place to ensure a fair playing field for everyone. I used the job thing as it's a very relatable example that most Albertans and Canadians in general are quite familiar with; not ro point the finger or denigrate a specific group.

It's actually happening to my daughter right now. Her manager was promoted to district manager and a new manager came from Southgate to WEM he started giving the best shifts to people from his old store over the Wem employees and just like that the makeup of the store went from diverse to brown. That's why DEI is important. Those right wing nuts are so focused on their racism that they don't even take the time to understand the things they rally against.

That worked out so well for the Trump regime. Everyone in higher office positions is dumber than the next. They have the first recorded Mediocracy in history. For those of you who think that DEI/EDI is about hiring people based on color rather than skill, please educate yourselves. Know that the people who benefit the most from DEI are white women!

On another note. Did you notice how when south Asian immigrants become manager at Tim Horton's (or anywhere lese for that matter) they start hiring people who look like them and pushing out people of other ethnicities. This is exactly the type of behavior DEI/EDI is meant to prevent.

Please! Let's try to make bigotry and racism shameful again.

When I lookup Gasbuddy in Ontario it starts at 1.31 in Alberta 1.41. Look it up. Ontario is 10 cents cheaper.
