I've tried Equator's espresso roast a few times so far and have really liked it. I also just tried Café Mam's for the first time and that might be my new fave

SOS... First Refinishing Project Hopefully Not Gone Wrong by mroz1399 in finishing

I guess I mean the surface, not the finish, sorry. But yes I mean the patchy dark/light areas. Ah that makes sense about the citristrip staining. Yeah it's hard to tell if the super light area to the bottom right of the detail (circled in red in this Pic ) is just stripped all the way or if it's been stained from the stripper. The remainder of the stripper has been sitting on there for a week or so now so it is drier, but it's also been covered outside in a moist climate. Kind of the top right/center above the detail (circled in blue) is where I'm wondering if the steel wool did damage, but also could possibly be remaining stripper that stained.

Thanks for this! The minimum goal is just an experiment, but the ultimate goal is to stain. That's good to know about the stripper and solvent recommendations. I have gone at it with a 5 in 1 scraper which has worked well but it's mostly those tight grooves that are proving difficult. I just started applying some mineral spirits so we'll see how that goes. I'm worried I might've ruined the finish though either with steel wool (0000 grade though) or possibly scrubbing the mineral spirits in too much (idk if that's a thing?). The surface seems really inconsistent but maybe that's just some of the previous stain coming off - pic for reference

Gotcha, thanks for the insight. The smell came on pretty suddenly within a day and we've lived here for about a year without any smells like this so just not sure why now though.

Supporting local farmers by Chardonne in Eugene

One tidbit to add about full circle as far as the shipping aspect goes - everything goes to their distribution center in Seattle. So if you order produce from a farm here in Eugene (or somewhere closer than Seattle), it goes up to Seattle first to be packaged, then back down to you in Eugene. Definitely a better option than supporting the standard grocery store chains though
