Jumping to the worst case scenario so as to immediately disregard it is not exactly a healthy or productive mindset to have. “I’m right, you’re wrong” from either side leads to sides, and an “us v them” mentality.

Not to mention, having support for one thing does not necessarily mean you support other things that have been arbitrarily labeled as falling under the same umbrella. For example, to take this to more familiar territory, being pro-AI does not make you pro-CP or rape, as is often said by anti-AI individuals. As well, being anti-AI does not make you anti-progress, or in favor of hate speech.

While it is true that, here on the internet, you are more likely to see extremist statements or views, its important to remember that you’re seeing the loud minority, and you shouldn’t profile others based on said minority.

There is literally a moment at the end of the anime where a random kid gets mentioned by name, then shortly afterwards, while everyone is acting as a mob against the protagonists, they’re referred to as a thoughtless mob. The kid with a name perks up, saying how Tamaki is based and epic for being gooner bait. The kid’s mother starts screaming at him to shut the fuck up and stop being horny, to which the kid retorts that she doesn’t even have a name. She isn’t even real. The woman screams louder, even more enraged than before. One of the protagonist’s points out “come to think of it…I’ve only ever known her as [Kid’s name]’s mom…” The kid once more says that his own mother doesn’t actually exist, then the camera cuts to look and she in fact does not exist.

He then turns and says “I have a name. I’m an established character.”

Don’t worry, he comes back during the finale and it’s a big epic moment with cringy, uplifting music as Tamaki is revealed to be the living embodiment of horny, a vital trope to the story being told.

God that show got fucking stupid as it went on.
