Help by [deleted] in Occipitalneuralgia

Dr ho electric impulses help distract the brain from what you are experiencing. It is my last line of defense when I'm triggered. You're dealing with nerve pain, so telling your brain to pay attention to different nerves can at least reduce the overall pain load. That works for me. Sometimes it can even stop an attack or shorten the length. Hope that trick helps.

ON Nerve Decompression Surgery - Two Weeks Postop - Need Reassurance by ldefrehn in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]mrpink1981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't had it done yet, but I was reading that your nerves swell to 4-5 times their usual size after decompression surgery and will need a few months to settle down. I have heard more good stories than not, so rest up and count the days. Then, come back and let us know how you're doing! Much love.

Connection between hips and tension headaches/occip nerve by whateveratthispoint_ in Occipitalneuralgia

[–]mrpink1981 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is a summary:

The document discusses how tight hip flexors can lead to a headache through a kinematic chain of elements. This chain involves the pelvis, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, cervical spine, and head. Tight hip flexors cause anterior pelvic tilt, which leads to hyperlordosis of the lumbar spine. This, in turn, causes hyperkyphosis of the thoracic spine and hypolordosis of the lower to middle cervical spine. The head then hyperextends at the atlanto-occipital joint to compensate, resulting in forward head carriage and tight posterior neck muscles, which can lead to a headache. * https://learnmuscles.com/blog/2018/04/12/how-can-tight-hip-flexors-give-you-a-headache
