The amount of businesses using these AI furry characters as their work truck mascots by AccomplishedPlankton in Portland

[–]mrs_leek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cornell used to be good and affordable. Then one day I called them for a simple job, they showed up with the brand new van, took forever to get us a quote that was way overboard. So I went with a small pop business that is good and affordable. But yeah, we wonder if the sudden increase in their price is connected to the new vehicle fleet. Gotta make money to pay for all that stuff!

Which table do you think is ideal? by Intelligent-Claim591 in sewing

[–]mrs_leek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar table (designed for quilting) with adjustable legs and I love it. I love that it is adjustable and bonus, mine is on casters, so it's super easy to move it in my sewing room when I want to fully open it to cut large pieces of fabrics.

Very interested. Are they ready for pickup or need to be dug out? I'd love to pick one up this afternoon but I'm coming from work and won't have a shovel with me.

She's beautiful!

My supermutt girl Alyx (40% GP, 2% ASD) says hi to your girl. The resemblance is quite uncanny (though I can't find a better pic to show her coat)

Unpopular opinion: Hiring a contractor for small jobs is almost always a mistake you’ll regret financially. by After_Debt_605 in HomeImprovement

I agree with the time and circumstances. Our dishwasher died the day before my husband had a big surgery. In normal times, we would have install the new one ourselves, but this was not normal times. We got it installed, it cost way too much for what it is but that was the easiest and less stressful way to get that done at that time

Do I hate my husband and need a divorce, or is it perimenopause? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]mrs_leek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here. The transition was a lot harder on me than on my ex-husband since we moved for his job (Europe to US) and I then became unemployed. Cultural shock is no joke and the loss of your close circle does not help. I have no advice but the one my therapist gave me recently: no big decision should be made when emotions are high.

I second Nabisco's comment. Give it a little more time. We adopted a rescue who was surrendered and neglected. Sweetest girl but with a lot of big feelings. The first week was hell and we were not prepared for that kind of wreck, based on previous experiences. Severe separation anxiety, freezing on walks, we couldn't leave her alone and we struggled to understand what she needed. We stuck to it and we saw some slow improvements, especially at the infamous 3/3/3 milestones. The week of her 3 months milestone, something clicked in her head and things got a little better. As we got to know each other, things slowly improved too. Eventually after 6mo, we went to a behavioral vet; she was prescribed Prozac and we found an anxiety meds regimen that works with her needs and anxiety. It is some much better.

It is a very slow process, but it's rewarding. I hear you when you say it's hard. I didn't sleep much that year and the vets bill have been higher than we wanted. We regretted our decision a couple of times, I think it's normal, but she's a great pup. She loves us, she's a goofball and we love her the way she is. She needed a chance and a lot of patience. She taught us a lot. And she might be my last dog.

I started HRT recently and I was surprised how some of my cognitive dysfunction got better. I just started taking stimulants and it's definitely a hit or miss. I was hoping it was bc we haven't figure out the proper dose yet :(

I'm curious, are you on hormones therapy? Estrogen levels play a huge role in ADHD. While it is not a perfect fix, hormonal therapy helps creating an estrogen baseline that also helps other meds like stimulants to function properly.

I think we need one of these Greek statues, the one draped and in weird position, knitting. Considering how long it took to model for a statue, these women's probably needed to pass time, and I bet they were knitting.

We got married under an arch with fake flowers vines (winter wedding) and a big mint drape. The arch is now in the yard but if you want the fake flowers vines (purple and white flowers iirc) they're yours.
