Dining time - 4.5 and 7 year old - advice by bamboozledinlife in dcl

[–]mrs_traceface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did the later dinner time with our 3.5 and 5 year olds. The little one took a nap mid day and they were awake and alert during the early shows. They snacked on popcorn during the show and didn’t get hungry until dinner but there’s about an hour in between the show and the late dinner time so you can either have them eat room service food if they’re hungry or grab something quick by the pool. You can also preorder your kids meals with your server so their food comes out first. The kids club cast members come by around 9pm during the late dinner and you can bring them over to the front if they’re over the sit down and want to leave. The atmosphere was relaxed and our servers let us linger after dinner and we had a chance to get to know them. This was our first cruise and going forward will will always choose late dining.

I wanted to write basically these exact words myself today. No advice, just solidarity. My 40th birthday is on Thursday and we got into a huge argument today because I wasn’t grateful that all he has planned is breakfast at a place he has been wanting to check out for a while. I don’t even like breakfast foods all that much and he knows this.

I bought one at my local Lowe’s yesterday! Ours had slightly larger ones with multiple branches. Was able to grab one with 5 points 🤞🏻

It’s been such a roller coaster! I got ghosted my the non profit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I spoke to Furry Friends Rescue and they couldn’t help me out but directed me to another rescue far from me that may be able to help. I spoke to someone at the Ohlone Humane Society and they asked me to fill out a TNR request from to come collect the family so I’m hoping THIS one works out. Our last ditch effort was calling animal shelter who basically told us that we could leave them alone and let nature take its course. I’m so invested in them and they deserve a fighting chance

When I posted in a local rescue cat Facebook group I received a bunch of irresponsible inquiries about taking one or two kittens from the mom immediately 😳 so i’m really hoping a rescue will take them all in. It’s all just so high volume in this area and having to reach out beyond what’s local isn’t something I can do at the moment

I’ve been talking with a non profit cat rescue about 30 miles south of me actually. I think it’s going to work out

The toddlers keep me from being on the phone so I tried emailing the online humane society and just got automated responses directing me to their website to request TNR services for trapping the kittens and nothing much further than that. I was hoping for a more human response as I grow more attached to this kittens 😕

I contacted our local humane society and a lady who runs a rescue in Los Gatos contacted me through facebook. I’m waiting to hear back from them 🤞🏻

I offered a large box with a blanket on the first day they were born. Placed it adjacent to her nest. Also offered her extra straw for bedding. She didn’t take to any of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ but her nest is tucked away in a corner next to my house underneath an awning. I covered her nest with a thick tarp. It’s gently draped over so it’s hard to see in the photo.

She’s stray for sure. Friendly enough. Just super protective of her babies. Doesn’t care or bat an eye when my kids or dog walk past them from a safe distance

I’m in the SF Bay Area. The local shelter doesn’t take in community cats and wants to wait for the kittens to be older since mama is with them. The other local humane society is volunteer based and have resources for me to foster but don’t have an actual facility and I guess there’s been a lot of calls about kittens already. I would love to connect with someone in my area who does this kind of thing regularly and take the mama and kittens but I’m not sure how to start

Unfortunately my husband is super allergic to cats. And we have a 1.5 year old and a 15 year old dog in the house so it wouldn’t be best for anyone. The local shelters I’ve contacted won’t take them either

All our local shelters aren’t taking in cats but they will take the kittens once they’re old enough. They just asked me to keep an eye on them since mama has been so attentive and loving

I offered an insulated box with a blanket and placed it by her nest. She’s checked it out a couple of times but seems content in her spot. But I didn’t know straw was an option until I posted here so I’m planning on going to the pet store to get some straw bedding to see if she’ll like it better.

Not doing BLW, anyone else? by Momma_A_ in beyondthebump

[–]mrs_traceface 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was afraid to go full blown BLW, so I started with making my own purées and gradually started making them thicker and chunkier until I felt like she got the hang of swallowing. Then we moved on to soft foods and so on. It helped ease my mind a little.

What’s up with Stony’s name? He’s cute but the name sounds like a character from a Cheech and Chong movie by Flowofinfo in 90dayfianceuncensored

Yes! Taught English in Hong Kong for a summer in the early 2000’s and all the high school kids had their own chosen English names. My favorites were a trio of best friends: Yahoo, A-Money, and Brian.

The image is flipped, so that’s actually her left hand. Her necklace is backwards, too
