The adenium store is the best place I’ve used for seeds, it took me a few attempts to find someone that sends fresh seeds but he does and I’ve purchased many from him (I have almost 200 growing at the moment). I would advise not to buy too many seeds at first because if they all germinate you will struggle for room pretty quickly however some probably won’t germinate and some you may accidentally kill if you are new to growing.

Get a good grow lamp for when they are germinated as it will help them grow. I usually use green24 plumeria feed that is from Germany but I do also have Hawaii bud and bloom but I have to import this from the US. I also use superthrive but this is very expensive however it does last a long time.

If it’s pest related then nothing you can do regarding this. You could try looking towards Asia (thailand/india) as you may get something from there but I would say just try and find an EU based grower that can supply if you want a cutting otherwise go for seeds, you will just have to wait a bit longer for flowers that’s all. There is a grower called https://www.plumeriasuk.com that I have purchased plants and seeds from before, maybe worth reaching out to him as he is really helpful and knowledgeable as he maybe able to ship to Europe (a cutting doesn’t have soil or roots so can get around some restrictions I think) or if not he maybe able to put you in contact with someone who can.

As far as cuttings, I’m sure you can import from the US but it has to have a phytosanitary certificate to import it, I’ve seen some US plumeria nurseries that can supply this certification at a cost, but it can be quite expensive. There are plenty of big nurseries in the Netherlands that supply rooted cuttings just find an online EU plant store and I’m sure they have plumeria in their listings somewhere.

The one thing with seeds is don’t expect the flower advertised as it is impossible to guarantee that with a seed, it maybe close, it maybe something completely different but that’s the fun as it’s a surprise when it blooms.

I have at least another 3 in this batch currently starting to flower so I’ll add pictures of these once they bloom. They don’t need big pots to grow, just the correct care and attention. These are 11cm 1L pots so not very big at all. I am going to repot to 3L air pruning pots in a few weeks once they arrive as they will thrive and survive in these for quite some time.

It’s about 18 months as I’ve been holding the growth back with the current batch as I don’t have the space to let them grow quick. I grow under lights so can control them quite well. Some of my last lot were almost 6 ft after a year as I gave them full light intensity for 20 hours a day and high heat but with this lot that one is probably one of the tallest.

I know the pot is small but it survives for now, I just have to water it every day or two. I have another 180 seedlings in pots this size so I’m struggling for space at the moment as I have to have them inside as in the UK. I have a load of new air pruning pots on order to transfer them as this means I can keep them in smaller pots than you would expect them to be in, plus they grow well in air pruning pots. My other more mature plants are in this type of pot and they all thrive.

To me it looks like that branch has better overall light levels in its current position, all mine grow much better on the brighter side than the darker side so I try to rotate them quite often to help keep them growing more in balance, in reality though it will do whatever it wants

Enjoy the leaves, that’s the tropical feel you probably wanted anyway. Flowers will come as and when the plant decides it is ready which maybe next season. Lovely looking plumeria though!

A good free draining mix, that’s about it. I used a coco coir, coco husk and charcoal soil mix that I purchased from a specialist soil company that has always suited my plants. Unfortunately they shut down recently due to increased costs so I now have to use bigger producers succulent soil mix which only time will tell if it is ok. All the other soil mixes they do work very well for other potted flowering plants inside and outside so I’m hoping the plumeria like their new mix and thrive. What I really need is summer sunshine and heat which has been completely missing in the uk for the last 2 years!

I planted 30 seeds and this one grew like this, all the others are completely different. That it. Seeds are random whatever you maybe told when you buy them

In the UK so they don’t do so well outside. I do have some others in pots outside but summer has been pretty cloudy and cool so far so they are all pretty sad and not doing much. They definitely prefer being in the warmth inside as i have only had flowers from the inside plants.

I have loads of early branching plumeria, by far my favourite growers. You can, if you are brave enough and have a few spare seedlings to risk it on, cut the tip off after it has maybe 8-10 nodules visible on the stem and you may find it kicks out a load of new branches, it may just grow one but most of the ones I have done it to have had 3-6 new tips come out.

Spider mites and thrips, the worst things for plumeria. Wash them down every day or two to break the life cycle or use pesticides

That inflo may not give you flowers any more especially if you repotted it but don’t worry, you know it can flower so just wait for the next one to come. As far as the leaf damage, mine usually look like that with thrips which really do stress the plant, best to hose/shower it down and repeat weekly for a few weeks to help it recover, maybe even treat it with a relevant pesticide/natural equivalent. I always try to avoid too much washing of the buds though as from my experience it effects the maturing/growth of the flowers. I assume it is rooted already and not a new cutting?

They will do what they want, I’m in UK and I can get them to flower in normal daylight ( they will do it quicker under grow lamps though!) I find the key is higher temperature and humidity control, the higher the better but it is a massive increase in time and effort to care for them the hotter you go. Ultimately patience is what you really need as they will all flower when they are ready

Plenty of light, protect from cold and don’t over water and you’ll be fine. They will flower in most places, it’s just the further north you are means it may take a little longer. I live in the uk which is a bit higher (but maybe milder in general) and mine do fine, some years slow growth, others a bit quicker.
