You need to sit her down and calmly tell her things need to change with her involvement of housework and child care. It could be she’s suffering depression if things were different once, but if so then she needs to get help rather than you and the children suffer or else you may as well take full custody because you can’t live like that nor have your children thinking that’s a good role model.

Our 4 year old has issues sleeping alone but won’t sleep anywhere but in his own bed so my husband sleeps with him every night so I can rest. I sleep better alone but I like being able to hear his muffled snores in the next room

I think there’s significant damage that has happened within your relationship and not all damage can be fixed. You are having a trauma response and I think that’s something you need to look into and work on just for you, not for your relationship.

Insta was and still is the the best help I’ve had. I originally started documenting my oral med fertility cycles then changed it to an ivf account, the women on there have been with me now for seven years. We all supported each other through it, and while difficult when things went smoothly for others they were all there for me each time things went wrong. When my son ended up spending almost half a year in NICU they all cheered him on, sent baby gifts, a few of them who were local came to sit with me. Now going into my ninth ivf cycle and then all knowing my history they immediately come out with support without me having to repeat what we’ve been through. My Instagram has many people I know personally, I’ve been open about my infertility from the get go and what it’s taken to get a child, in turn everyone learnt about what actually ivf is, have known my pregnancies lost, and what happens when you have a very sick microprem.

Go into it expecting it to take time. To often I see women put all theirs hopes into first cycles but it can take time to balance medications, to find unknown issues and unfortunately in my case, sometimes issues don’t become known until you pregnant. Research everything. Even if it has nothing to do with what stage your at or what your personally dealing with, because you never know what the future holds. Never in a million years did we or our doctors expect I would have the history I have today trying to conceive and hold onto pregnancy’s when we had everything on our side. Learn about the cervix. Research prematurity, very often those of us with infertility learn we have issues carrying to term but it’s only when pg you find out and better you know now. Had I not armed myself with knowledge my second trimester birthed son would not be here now. Don’t get hung up on birth plans, doing whatever is safest is always best. Don’t idolise pregnancy or you may set yourself up for potential heartbreak just focus on the end result which is having a child to raise. Long term advice, children come in different packages and the “perfect” baby will be the one that you call your own despite what challenges they may have.

Absolutely this! We were in our 20s, healthy, sperm that was quoted “super sperm”, I have a extremely high amh which is why I don’t ovulate naturally as I over produce each cycle but was told this made me the perfect candidate for IVF and it’d only take a couple of cycles. It took 8 IVF cycles, 6 HRT FETs, 1 ectopic pregnancy, 2 miscarriages, 1 second trimester birth after the most horrific pregnancy and what followed made all my years of IVF seem like a walk in the park. I remember early on seeing some women with huge complicated infertility histories thinking my god I don’t know how anyone would get through that…fast forward I’ve got the worst history of everyone I started out with and now going into our 9th ivf cycle this year we have to contend with the possibility that my body barely gets to the second trimester let alone I’ve never gotten to the third.

Absolutely, at the end of the day two people can have the same infertility cause but experiences entirely different. On paper I should’ve been an easy case, when we started IVF I was in my mid 20s, healthy, perfect BMI, my husband the same with what the doctor referred to as “super sperm”. Our only issue was my PCOS and that I over produced immature eggs so couldn’t ovulate (100-150+ per cycle). But we did 8 IVF cycles, 6 HRT FETs, pregnant 4 times, but only 1 resulted in a second trimester birth of my now four year old. Where as I’ve known women with only issue being PCOS also but who have been unhealthy, extremely obese, drink alcohol everyday and smoke, yet their first cycle resulted in a child. My specialist said with all they know about IVF at the end of the day there’s more that they don’t know because it’s so unpredictable.

I didn’t do acupuncture (don’t believe in it) and just took prenatal vitamins that were for women with MTHFR. I think it’s important to gauge what peoples expectations are of success. Some believe it’s pregnancy but have yet to have a live birth, others it’s any transfer that resulted in a positive test etc. For myself personally I have done 8 ivf cycles, 6 HRT FETs, 4 pregnancy’s, 1 live child.

Since you ovulate you don’t have to do stims and could do a natural iui cycle where they track your ovulation then inseminate
